Arthur William Simonson of Hoffman Estates Memorial services for Arthur William Simonson, 80, formerly of Roscoe, Ill. and Port Richey, Fla., will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Schaumburg. Visitation with the family will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the services. Born Aug. 31, 1924, in Felch, Mich., he passed away Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2005, at Rosewood Care Center in Northbrook. Mr. Simonson retired from Chicago Faucets after 25 years of employment where he was a corporate executive. He served in the Army Air Force during World War II. He received his bachelors degree from Michigan State University. As a former member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, he had served at one time as the president of the Church Council. He belonged to the Des Plaines Elks Club. He was an avid golfer and a diehard Packers fan. Survivors include his beloved wife of 56 years, June (nee Sjoquist); children, Laurie (Lew) Hart of Hoffman Estates, Lynn (Keith) Vogeler of Barrington, Dr. Scott (Fonda) Simonson of Clifton Park, N.Y. and Steve (Kim) Simonson of Marengo; grandchildren, Mathew and Meghan Hart, Kenny Alden, Annie and Emma Vogeler, Amelia and Danika Simonson, and James, Hayden and Sarah Simonson; sister, Darlene (Bob) Grunland of Norway, Mich.; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John Herbert, Paul Ragnor, Holger and Edward; and sister, Martha.
