Ch1 Unwelcome Arrival
Siana landed in a heap at the bottom of the bone eaters’ well. She looked around.
“Owww” she moaned, then stood up.
She pressed her hands against the damp stony walls on every side of her and proceeded to climb up. She rested her foot on a particularly slimy brick, and she slipped. She fell back into the dark well, landing on her butt at the bottom again. . She tried again to climb up, and this time succeeded. She pulled herself over the top and out into the forest.
“What the hell”, she muttered, looking around. She remembered falling into the well through a shrine, not a forest. She unclenched her fist. Good. At least the piece of jewel or whatever was still there. She covered her eyes as it began to glow brightly. She crammed it in her pocket and lay down. Her short golden blonde hair fanned out around her head, and her dark brown eyes stared up at the cloudless blue sky above. She lifted one leg up and looked at it. Her jeans were filthy, and not to mention ripped. Badly. Her shirt was covered in dirt & sand too. She tried to brush it off but it clung stubbornly to the fabric of her shirt. She stood up, deciding she needed to get home.
‘That is’ she thought ‘If we even are in Kansas anymore’
She grinned and looked around and spotted a huge tree. But it wasn’t the tree that had caught her attention. It was the aura of the tree. She walked slowly over to it, and pressed her hand against the trunk and felt energy pulse through her, like she’d never felt before. The piece of crystal in her pocked began to glow, shining through the material on her pants and it shook slightly. She pulled her hand away from the tree and looked down at it. It was only slight, but she noticed a sort of pink glow around it. Slowly at first, then more quickly, it began to spread up her arm and all over her body. She started to panic. What was this? What was going on? She tried to wipe it off, but it didn’t seem to do anything. She turned and ran away from the tree as fast as possible, through the forest, until she came upon a village. It was not very large, but it looked like something from a history textbook. She rubbed her eyes and looked again.
“No way” she muttered “This isn’t real, its not even possible… or logical. It couldn’t be… could it?”
Suddenly she heard footsteps behind her, and they weren’t slow. In fact it sounded like they were running, and faster than she had ever heard before. She looked at the village, and then looked down. The only way to get to the village was down a steep, sandy cliff. The footsteps drew nearer and without stopping to think she jumped. Her start was not a good one. First she rolled forward, her feet in the air, and then she hit something, which left a large cut in the side of her stomach. After that, she pretty much just slid down. Suddenly she was hit from behind, and tumbled forwards, but she was quickly grabbed by the leg and lifted up. She looked to the side and saw the person who had grabbed her. He had long, flowing silver hair, and golden eyes, almost like a cats’ .She was looking at his hair, when suddenly she noticed something. Two, neat dog’s ears poked out from beneath it, in fact they stood out very clearly if you actually took the time to look. He wore an entirely red outfit, and he was all in all, very good looking. She struggled to break free, as she was not sure how safe a guy with dog’s ears was, but failed. His grip was very tight.
“Let me go” she shouted “Let go you creep” she pounded her fists against his back, but he didn’t seem to notice, he just kept going down the hill. She swung her feet wildly and one of them connected with his thigh.
‘Hmph, that’ll teach him, that stopped him’ and indeed it had. He stopped. Then he reached around and grabbed her by the neck, holding her out in front of him. She struggled to breathe. She tried to cry out, but found she couldn’t.
“Look” he said “Either you calm down and let me take you to the bottom or I can end it like this”
She stopped squirming.
“Good” he said, tossing her over his shoulder again.
She inhaled repeatedly, before she was happy, and finally able to breathe properly. Soon enough, they reached the bottom of the hill and the guy dropped her on the ground. He stood over her, looking down on her and said
“Now be a good girl and give me the jewel shards”
“What?” she said “This?” She pulled out the little jewel in her pocket.
“Yes that” he said impatiently, “Now hand it over”
“Why?”
“Because I said so, now give it here”
“No” she replied finally
He knelt down beside her and held his hand in front of her face. She saw long, sharp claws on each of his fingers and shuddered.
“Care to try your luck” he growled, grinning, and showing sharp fangs.
Without hesitation, Siana said, “Yes!” and stood up quickly. She quickly jumped over him, and ran down a grassy path towards the village.
“Get back here you little brat” he shouted, chasing after her, and catching up quickly. There was a small pop and in front of her stood a small boy no older than 5-ish. He had a long fox’s tail and small, but sharp fangs. He stood in front of her, blocking her path for a moment, then he seemed to realize that if he didn’t move he was going to get trampled so he jumped out of her way quickly. A girl’s voice from up above shouted
“Inuyasha! Leave her alone!”
The guy with the dog’s ears, who Siana now knew was called Inuyasha shouted back “But she has jewel shards, you even said so yourself.”
“Yeah, but quit picking on her”
“No”, but this time it wasn’t Inuyasha who replied to the girl. It was Siana.
The owner of the voice ran out of the bushes. She had long black hair and brown eyes, and she looked down at Siana, seemingly worried. She looked familiar.
Suddenly Siana recognized her. They went to the same school. She was the girl who was supposedly always sick!
“Trust me, you don’t want to fight Inuyasha”
“And why--- not?” She shouted, narrowly avoiding a branch sticking out of all the sand.
“Because you won’t stand a chance!” she shrieked
“I’d care to test that theory,” said Siana, whirling around to face Inuyasha.
“Inuyasha! Sit boy!” Cried the girl. Inuyasha barely had time to do anything, he
stopped abruptly, and fell to the ground.
He growled “Kagome! Wha’d you do that for!?”
“Don’t pick on her Inuyasha!”
Inuyasha ignored her and turned to face Siana
“You honestly think you could beat me?” he said.
“No” she replied simply “But I’d care to try”
Ch2 Friends and Enemies
“You’re kidding” Inuyasha sneered
“No” Siana said back seriously, and without another word, ran straight at him. She balled her hand into a fist and aimed a strike at his stomach, and to her great surprise, hit.
He fell once more to the ground, and got slowly back up, growling. Siana took a few steps back, but she didn’t show any fear, though she had plenty.
Inuyasha jumped towards her, his claws gleaming and struck her, though she avoided a major hit, and he only hit her side. She now had a deep cut on the side of her stomach, and four long, and very deep scratches down her arm to match. Blood ran down her fingers and hit the sand, making small droplets, which lingered and did not sink.
‘Now’ she thought ‘I guess it’s my turn’
She kicked up, placing a foot on his chest and kicked off from there, she flew into the air a little ways came back down on his shoulders behind his head. She had one knee on each of his shoulders and she bent backwards until her hands touched the ground. Then she used her legs to flip him into the air. He flew through the air, then started his descent. She stuck out her leg and instead of the ground; he landed on her shin.
“I could have let you fall you know.” She said, looking down at his startled face. “But I’m not that heartless” she said, setting him down gently on the sand.
He grabbed her leg.
“Too bad.” He said grinning “Cause I am”
He pulled on her leg and she fell to the ground as he kneeled over her, his claws at her throat.
“I told you, you couldn’t beat me”
“Ha! I’m not going to lose to someone like you!”
She kicked out and her foot collided with his stomach. Inuyasha rolled off of her then got to his feet. Not for long. She swept her leg underneath him and he fell once more. He growled and jumped into the air, higher than she’d ever seen any human jump before.
She stood up and watched him rising steadily higher into he air.
“Holy crap, what the hell” she said. She ran up the sand bank and past Kagome. She made it about two steps into the forest before she collided with something. She was thrown backwards and landed on her back.
“Owww! Can I please stay on my feet for more than five seconds?” she muttered, looking around to see what she’d run into.
A young man with jet-black hair tied back into a small ponytail lay nearby. He sat up and looked at her. He grinned, then grabbed her hand
“Oh, I’m sorry, please forgive me!”
“Uh…”
“Are you alright?”
“Um yeah, but I gotta get out of here on account of there’s a crazy dog guy chasing me and trying to kill me so... Uh… Bye!”
Siana got up and got ready to run but the man said
“You mean Inuyasha? Oh he just doesn’t learn does he? Don’t worry about him, Um but may I ask why he’s chasing you?”
Siana pulled the pink jewel out of her pocket and the man gasped then said
“Oh… well that’s why then. You have a shard of the Shikon no Tama.”
“A shard of the what huh?”
“Shikon no Tama... The Jewel of Four Souls”
“Alrighty then, and why does he want it?”
“Because whoever has the full jewel gets a wish granted, any wish”
“Well that girl” she said pointing to Kagome “Has loads, why doesn’t he take hers?”
“Because they’re working together to get all the pieces of the jewel so that Inuyasha can become full demon.”
“Um, why does he want to do that, he’s damn tough already”
“Yeah well… By the way I haven’t introduced my self. I am the priest, Miroku”
“Siana” she replied “Nice to meet you”
Suddenly Siana felt herself being pulled backwards and a pair of clawed hands wrapped around her stomach.
“Crap. Let me go. Have the freaking jewel!”
She reached into her pocket and pulled it out.
“Here take it and leave me the hell alone”
She held it out and Inuyasha snatched it away from her.
“See how easy that was, couldn’t you have done that in the first place?” he said, shoving her with his foot.
“No I couldn’t have, I’m just too damn stubborn aren’t I?” She said, tripping him again. He snarled and stared to grab her when Miroku whacked him with a long gold staff.
“Lay off Inuyasha” he said, “I have to ask this nice young lady a question.”
“Oh no here we go again” Said Inuyasha rolling his eyes
Miroku bent down in font of Siana and took her hands in his.
“Siana, Will you do me the honor of bearing me a son?”
“Will I do whaty-whay-what now??!?!”
“Well you see the demon Naraku set a curse upon my family and if I fail to destroy Naraku, which is the only way to get rid of the curse, then at least I will have someone to continue our family’s quest”
“Uh… Well, see…” Siana said, blushing furiously.
Looking at him, she didn’t really think that he’d be such a bad person to have kids with, but still she didn’t know anything about him.
“Uh… maybe? Thing is see, I really don’t know you and I have a boyfriend back home sort of, It’s an off and on kind of thing and I have a seriously busy schedule and… Well, you get the picture”
“I see,” Said Miroku, then he smiled “I shall await your answer then”
“Uh, ok you do that,” she said, still blushing a bit.
Kagome stood behind them laughing a bit. Siana looked at her.
“Does he always do that?”
“Yeah. To pretty much every pretty girl he meets”
“And?”
“Usually he’s turned down”
“I see” Said Siana grinning. “Well actually I’d better get going”
“Oh? How come?” said both Kagome and Miroku at the same time.
“Uh…Because?”
“Aww, but we just met,” said Miroku
“You could travel with us!” said Kagome
“Let her go” said Inuyasha “She’d just get in the way anyway”
“Hehe, yeah, he’s probably right. I’m not always the most useful person to have around”
“Nonsense! You were a great fighter against Inuyasha”
“Gimme a break, If she hadn’t handed over the jewel, she’d be dead now!” snapped Inuyasha.
“Thanks so much, Aren’t we just a ray of sunshine Hn?” said Siana, flashing him a fake smile.
“Yeah well it’s true”
“Is not”
“Is too”
“Is NOT”
“Is too.”
“IS NOT!” Siana growled, picking up a nearby stick and flinging it at him.
“Is too!” he said starting to run at her. Siana stuck out her foot and tripped him again.
“I rest my case,” she said, looking down at him and grinning.
He growled and stood up, but didn’t fight back.

Ch3 Unexpected Attack
The sky began to change from sun to sunset as the blues began to shift to pinks, oranges and yellows as day slowly turned to night and the day’s creatures went into rest, a signal for the creatures of the night to begin their ascent. Siana, Kagome, Miroku, Inuyasha and Shippo walked through the forests searching for a suitable place to spend the night.
Though they weren’t aware that they were being followed. Well not exactly following by his standards, more like watching… observing. A man with long silver hair and golden eyes watched from the treetops.
Sesshomaru. The older brother of Inuyasha, though he, Sesshomaru was a full demon. His brother was his only rival. The others didn’t last long enough, and neither would Inuyasha once he got hold of the Tetsuiga.
‘Hmm, who’s the new girl…’ He wondered; though he didn’t really care.
Just another member of Inuyasha’s crew of humans that he’d get to kill. He jumped silently to the next tree, his silvery hair flowing elegantly behind him. His toes touched down on one of the top branches. The group below him laughed and he grinned.
‘I’m just gonna have to spoil their fun I guess’ he thought, then, jumped down and landed softly on the cool grass below. His soft voice echoed in the silence as if he’d shouted.
“Hello there”
Inuyasha was the first to turn around, recognizing his brother’s voice immediately.
“Sesshomaru” he growled
“What, not happy to see me? Why am I not surprised?”
“Why would I ever be happy to see you”
“Oh I don’t know, only because I’m your only brother. We should all learn to get along Hn?”
Inuyasha let out a decisive laugh “You can’t be serious Sesshomaru”
“Hell no” He replied with a small grin. Without warning he sped at Inuyasha, his claws at the ready and struck at him. Inuyasha barely dodged his attack and jumped out of the way. Sesshomaru heard the new girl whisper to Kagome
“Who’s he?”
“Sesshomaru, Inuyasha’s older, full demon brother.” Kagome replied
“Brother? Then could you explain why exactly they’re trying to kill eachother?”
“Because Inuyasha has a sword that Sesshomaru wants, but Sesshomaru couldn’t wield it so Inuyasha ended up being the heir but Sesshomaru wants the sword because he think he’s stronger and more powerful than Inuyasha”
“Is he?”
Kagome sighed than said “Probably, every fight, Inuyasha comes off in much worse condition that Sesshomaru does, but it’s not for certain.”
“Is he after the jewel too?”
“Hmm… that I’m not too sure about”
“HEY, SESSHOMARU!” Siana yelled at him, a grin on her face.
Sesshomaru stopped dead in the middle of trying to kill Inuyasha shocked that the human had spoken to him.
“What?” he snarled impatiently, effortlessly dodging another blow from his brother. He had no idea why he even bothered to ask what she wanted, but who knew, might be interesting.
“Are you collection the Shikon no Tama?”
“No, A demon such as I has no need for trinkets like the Shikon no Tama”
“All right thanks. I was just wondering”
Sesshomaru raised an eyebrow, but made no effort to figure the human out, he started to prepare for another attack on his brother, but the girl’s voice rang out over the clearing once more.
“Yo Inuyasha, you look like you need a hand”
“Gimme a break will ya? I’m fine,” He said wiping a trickle of blood from under his mouth”
“Don’t be stupid” Siana shouted and ran past the others, and stood next to Inuyasha.
“Oh come on. I’m a half demon and I can’t even beat him, you think a little help from a human is gonna make me do any better?”
“Human? Now, now, don’t judge a book by it’s cover or whatever” she replied flashing a smile at him “Now go back and keep fighting, you’ll see what I can do”
Inuyasha shrugged and lunged at his brother once more.
Behind him, Siana had her arms stretched out her hands about 3 inches apart.
“Amos Thenas” her voice carried the spell across the clearing the stone on her gold necklace began to shimmer “Amea Ki Thenas Soi… Nikea!”
As the last word of the spell rang out through the clearing a rope of fire shot out from between her hands and headed for Sesshomaru. He jumped out of the way, but it continued to follow him. Siana smiled!
“It worked!” She said jumping up and down a bit “It worked! YAY!” she ran over to Kagome “It WORKED!"
“A Magis!” Cried Shippo, “You’re a Magis!” He looked at Kagome “A sorcerer… well sort of”
“What did she say?” asked Kagome
“Um ‘Powers of Fire’ that would be Amos Thenas… then the rest I don’t know… But I do know that Thenas is fire!”
“Great”
“Well soooo-rry! Just because I’m not a Magis, I don’t speak their language, and they aren’t exactly willing to share their secrets with just anyone either”
Siana laughed.
“Look,” cried Miroku
The rope of fire shaped itself into a dome and encircled Sesshomaru. He looked for a way out. There was a small opening that hadn’t closed up yet. He jumped, but didn’t quite make it. He slammed into the flaming wall and was thrown back to the ground. He sat up, looking for an escape but none was found. He looked down at his now burnt robes and noticed that a lot of the top was missing most of his chest was now exposed, not good when in battle with Inuyasha. He was a good fight for Sesshomaru as it was. Now he could have the perfect place to strike if he needed one.
Still he had to get out of the flames. It was too hot in here. He couldn’t last long. There was no way out that he could see. He tried his Acid Talons, but the girl’s magic was too strong.
‘Damn it Inuyasha, couldn’t beat me without help could you?' He muttered.
He breathed deeply, trying to concentrate on finding a way out, but the air was too hot. It burned his lungs and he collapsed to his knees.
‘I can’t give up… Can’t let Inuyasha win…’
But slowly his vision began to blur. He tried to stand up but the effort took too much out of him. Slowly, his mind fell away into blackness.
(Author's Note: That right there, was the hardest part of the story for me to write. Hurting Sessy... I'm ashamed... NOT! But it still hurts... in my heart...)
Ch4 Reasons
After about 15 more seconds the fire vanished and Siana saw Sesshomaru, lying motionless on the ground.
Inuyasha ran over to her, hand held out in a ‘give me five’ sort of way. But that wasn’t how Siana felt.
“Oh shit… he’s not dead is he?”
Inuyasha lowered his hand.
“Huh?”
“Is he OK?” She yelled, running past Inuyasha towards Sesshomaru. She knelt down on the singed grass next to him.
“Crap, please don’t be dead” She reached out a shaky hand and placed it on his neck, checking for a pulse. She found one, but it was weak.
“Well I don’t exactly want to heal him, I’m not to keen on the idea of him waking up and kicking the living shit out of me! Damnit well I’ll just help him out a bit”
“What the hell are you doing” Said Inuyasha walking up next to her.
She looked up at him, relieved
“He’s not dead”
“You say that like it’s a good thing… and it’s not”
“Yes it is. Look, I didn’t want to kill him ok? Just you know, slow him down a little, but I can’t really control my powers yet, you know? I can’t control how far it goes…”
“I’m guessing you’ve had bad past experiences?”
“LOOK! I PROMISED MYSELF AND EVERYONE ELSE THAT I’D NEVER KILL AGAIN AND I’M NOT GOING BACK ON THAT! YOU WANNA KILL HIM FINE, YOU GO AHEAD AND DO THAT, I’M… I just can’t” she finished quietly.
“What-“
“Don’t kill him now.”
“Why the hell not.”
“Because when you were in your human form he refused to kill you didn’t he. He’s spared your life more than once. I know. Kagome told me. Don’t tell me you can’t return the favor one damn time?”
“Ok, Ok, Back off! I’ll leave him alone… But what happened with you? What did you mean you’d never kill AGAIN?”
“It’s none of your business is it?”
“Well if you’re traveling with us it is, I value my life thanks”
“I won’t travel with you then”
“Who says I’m lettin’ you leave until I get an answer”
“Me”
“And you’re opinion---“
“Shut UP!” Siana cried, and she slapped him. She didn’t mean to, she just did. And at the moment her hand made contact with his face, the stone on her necklace began to glow.
“Damnit! No!” she grasped the stone, cast one look back at Inuyasha, Kagome, Miroku and Shippo, before she turned and took off into the forest.
“Wait!” Yelled Inuyasha “I didn’t mean to be like that, I just…’ he stopped and watched her go. “Damnit, I didn’t mean to chase her off, I just wanted to know something”
“And she didn’t want to tell you” said Miroku.
“Well… let’s go,” said Shippo “If she wants to, she’ll be able to find us.”
Inuyasha nodded and they set off again.
Siana crouched in the bushes, clutching the stone on her necklace and watched them go.
“Damn that was too close” she muttered, breathing heavily “Almost lost control”
Once the others were a good distance away, she came out of the bushes and knelt beside Sesshomaru again.
“Ok, let’s see what I can do for you,” she said, looking down at him. She studied his face carefully
‘Wow, for a guy he’s really pretty! Too bad he doesn’t have a personality to match!’ She thought, and grinned a bit.
“Ok so… healing spell, healing spell. Ah! Hmm. Ok, summoning spell… Amos Theana Kuto Mias”
A spell book appeared in her right hand. She flipped through it.
“Ah here we go… Ak Sikin Ne Rotia Kianus Mahake”
Her hand hovered over his chest, then started to glow white. The light spread over Sesshomaru’s body and the burns and scrapes he had healed quickly. His breathing, which had been quick and somewhat ragged, slowed to normal. And something else happened. The spots where his clothes had been burned or ripped, seemed to fix.
“Ok, now something to keep you asleep while I leave… Easy enough… Tonas Mikoe“
For only a second his body was surrounded by a light blue glow, then it seemed to sink into his body.
“Ok! Job done. Tome for me to get going… maybe I should head back home…”
She said, standing up. “Nobody is going to believe what happened to me… of course I can’t tell them about my powers… who knows what that could cause, especially with…” she grew silent, now walking along the path on which she had come, a small flame hovering in front of her, lighting her way. She heard noises in the bushes around her and started to run a bit. She tripped over a root sticking out of the ground and fell to her knees.
“Crap” she said standing up and looking down at her pants “Everyone’s gonna wonder where I was and what happened to my pants…” They were covered in dirt mostly, and some ash from where the grass had been burned when she kneeled down to help Sesshomaru. She brushed them off as best she could but it didn’t work very well.
“Damn I gotta hurry up”
She said, starting to run again. She hadn’t gotten far when an arm wrapped around her stomach and pulled her back.
‘Crap. Ok, It’s probably just Inuyasha trying to get me to come back or something… yeah’ She thought, though she wasn’t convinced. She peeked out of the corner of her eye., She caught a glimpse or robes, though they weren’t red. They were a soft white with a Sakura pattern. Just like Sesshomaru’s.
‘Damn, damn, damn, damn, now what, crap I am sooooo dead! Ok just don’t do anything… maybe he’ll think you had a heart attack and died or something… Ahh! Don’t be stupid he’d have to be an idiot… Umm, well I don’t know what the hell to do’
But before she could do anything, she was spun around to face him, and she found herself looking into the face of the person she probably least wanted to see right now. But in his eyes was not anger, or vengeance. Something like gratitude, a softness of sorts shone in his eyes as a small smile played across his lips.
“Your sleep spell wasn’t very well done” he said simply.
“Umm… yeah. I didn’t know if it would work too well, it seemed too simple”
He nodded, but said nothing. Neither did Siana. After a few seconds of them both standing there in silence, Sesshomaru drew a deep breath, then said
“Thanks”
“What for?”
He looked slightly confused “Umm, you just saved my life for no reason, don’t you think that deserves thanks?”
“Um, I almost killed you in the first place, remember that?”
“Yes but, you healed me after, and after all you were on Inuyasha’s side for the fight weren’t you? You’d be considered a traitor if you didn’t help them.”
“But I am though… A traitor I mean. I helped you in the end didn’t I?”
Sesshomaru looked thoughtful for a moment, then said, “Yes I suppose you’re right…”
“Yeah, I am.” She pulled back the sleeve of her black WCS hoodie and looked at her watch. The time was the same here as it was back home. 10:48 PM! “And holy crap I really have to go! Sorry, I’m already gonna be in enough trouble as it is!”
She said, she turned, facing away from Sesshomaru
“But I’ll be back though”
And she took off running, Sesshomaru standing behind, watching her go.
Ch5 Apologies & Explanations
Siana ran down the road, her shoes smacking on the pavement beneath them.
‘Crap, crap, I am sooo late! Mom’s gonna kill me!’
She burst through the door of her house.
“Hi I’m back I was out with Akino, my pants are dirty cuz I was outside, I don’t have homework, I’m not hungry so it’s ok if I missed dinner, Sorry I’m late, I’m going to my room. Do not disturb” she shouted, removing her shoes and running through the house towards the room at the end of the hall, hers. But she didn’t quite make it. Her mother stepped out of the next room, blocking her path.
“Do you know what time it is?”
Siana looked down at her watch.
“Umm… 10:56… BUT, I was out with Akino, it’s not my fault you know how the time just seems to fly by when you’re having fun. Well that’s what happened so really it’s not my fault!”
Her mother just rolled her eyes and went back into the room from which she’d come.
‘Hmm… that was easy’ Siana thought, sliding open the door to her room. She threw her backpack on the floor next to her bed and turned on the light. She walked across the room to her bed and collapsed onto it. After a few moments, she fell asleep.
***********
A loud beeping sound woke Siana at 6:30. She stretched out her arm and groped around for her clock. She hit the snooze button. It went quiet. Ten minutes later it went off again, and once again she hit the snooze button.
‘Shut UP’
She mumbled into her pillow. Suddenly she remembered everything that had happened the day before. She sat up.
“Could- could it have all been a dream?” she whispered. She looked down at what she was wearing. Black jeans with chains on the waist, and a black West Coast Choppers hoodie. Excatly what she’d been wearing the previous day, judging by the grass stains and stuff on her pants.
