Well, who do we have here... #VISITOR, is it not? Heh, we Kerishaki Warriors have more than just fighting skills. Anyway, I'm #NAME. If that's too much of a mouthful, just call me Arige. Now, you may be wondering who or what a Kerishaki Warrior is, let me tell you a bit about us.
We Kerishaki are an order of Krawk Warriors hailing from Kerishaki Swamp on Mystery Island. The first thing you may notice about us is our dreadlocks and special colours, but our fighting skills are nothing to laugh at. However, I fear that I may be lost from my clan. Let me tell you about the story of my life... To begin, the Kerishaki travelled frequently, sometimes helping out it the many Neopian wars. We were liked by almost all but one being... | |
It was Meshakri, a Magnisan Dragon of pure evil. As always, she had hatched an evil plan: This time to take down the Kerishaki, which were interfering with her plans to take over both Neopia and Gelagria. After a while, she had a way to stop us...And must I admit, she did a good job for someone so evil...

At the stroke of a midnight, I saw her shadow swoop over our villiage, dropping handfuls of strange blue sparkles to the ground. I stepped out to see what the fuss was about, but immeadiatly felt faint. Before I blacked out, I could hear Meshakri's screeching cackle as it faded away into the night.
"Arige! Can you hear me? Get up!"
I could hear the voice of Syrectai, my best friend and fellow warrior, but when I opened my eyes, I saw something completely different. Syrectai was not a normal Krawk, but a Krawk PetPet! I looked down at myself, only to find that I had become a PetPet Krawk as well. In fact, every Krawk in the village had become one!
Syrectai led me over to a log stump, where everyone had gathered around Kinralio, the village elder. He tried his best to calm everyone down, then drew a picture in the sand with his staff and explained his plan to the village's population.
"This here is Krawk Island, right here near the edge of Mystery Island, which we live on." He began, "Now, there is said to be a cave there filled with a magic fungus that will restore us to our former selves." He paused and looked over the crowd, then continued. "Now, I am not sure whether or not it is only a myth, but it is a chance I'm willing to take. Are we going to let whoever did this to get the better of us?"
There was a chorus of "No!" from the audience.
And so, we set off toward Krawk Island. From a bird's-eye-view, one could see a rainbow of Krawks, at least one hundred, swimming in a large mass. Of course, we were seen, but not by a bird...
Next thing I knew, a giant net had been thrown over me, as well as most of the other Krawks. Only six or seven Krawks had not been snared, including Syrectai, his sister Aletsha, and Kinralio. When I looked up, I saw the net attached to a huge ship, several mean-looking Neopets peering over the side.
"PetPet catchers!" Aletsha snarled from her place in the water, "Those bullies have our warriors!"
"Arigeitsuu!" Syrectai swam forward and clutched my hand through the net, the began chewing through the ropes.
Suddenly, I could feel the net being pulled upward, but Syrectai was oblivious to what was going on. Suddenly he was being stared at on all sides by several of our captors. Suddenly, his plan of breaking the ropes was forgotten, and he spun around, striking out at those who surrounded him with his feet, tail, and one free claw. Each of the PetPet catchers backed away, giving Syrectai the chance to run toward one side of the ship. On the way there however, he suddenly slipped on a strange piece of glowing fungus. With the catchers advancing on him, he quickly crammed the pieces into his mouth, and was instantly surrounded by a white light.
When the light faded, there stood Syrectai, back as a normal Krawk! Each of the catchers stood in awe, and one or two could be heard cursing and saying that they regretted taking that bit of fungus onto the ship with them. Then, there was an eerie silence a few seconds before Syrectai grabbed a sword from the hand of a catcher and lept into battle.
The catchers chased Syrectai across the ship, but those who got too close were struck down by the flat of the sword. With a mighty swing he severed the main rope that held together our net, setting us free.
"Run everyone! Go to the island! I'll take care of these..."
He didn't get a chance to finish, the catchers came up from behind and took him down, piling on him and striking out with their weapons. Once they had beaten him down, they quickly took after the fleeing Krawks, but managed to get none. But upon seeing the injured form of my best friend, I turned around and rushed to his side. He looked pretty banged up; there were slashes and numerous injuries all over. Upon seeing me, he held up a hand to signal me to leave him. His voice was slightly cracked and reedy.
"What are you doing? Go with the others to the Island! Don't worry 'bout me Arigeitsuu...Remember back during the Sakhmet Invasion, when I has injured even worse than this, but still took down those three Grundo Troopers? Well, these guys aren't much exception. Go!"
I was about to do what he said, but a sudden rush caused me to grab Syrectai and help him to the side of the ship. With a tiny push, I knocked him into the water. He looked up to me as he paddled slowly, but I felt something holding me back... It was a tight feeling around my tail, and the floor seemed to fall from under my feet. It wasn't until then that I realized a catcher had seized me by the tail. I tried to squirm from his grasp, but it was to no avail.
"Gotcha! Maybe we lost the other ninty-nine or so others, but you'll be fine until our next catch!"
I was sent to a PetPet store, caged and without much food. Ever so often, the PetPet keeper would go into the warehouse and take a few cages into the shop. I saw a miserable Felly in the cage next to me, his only entertainment was pushing the bits of sand around on the bottom of his tank. I sighed, hoping that this would be over soon in one way or another.
Then came the day. The PetPet keeper came into the room with his cart, and did his routine of loading cages onto it. Then, he came over to the shelf I was on, placed a price tag on the side of my cage, and loaded it up. I could see several Neopians from the door, eagerly awaiting the restock. By the time the cart reached the shop area, everyone was screaming for the PetPet they wanted and how much they were willing to pay for it. I couldn't hear what was being said, but in a minute the PetPet keeper pointed to a cloaked figure holding a large bag of Neopoins and said, "I accept your offer!"
Not long after I had been sold, the cloaked person called up a boat and took us across the water. After an hour or two, we arrived on an island filled with all matter of Pirates. I stopped to look at them, but the one in the cloak tugged the leash I was attached to. I was dragged into a strange-looking cave, filled with the same glowing fungus that Syrectai had eaten on the ship. The cloaked figure went quickly to work scooping up a handful of the fungus by the water. Then, they pulled back the hood of the cloak, revealing the face of a fairly young girl. I backed away slightly, but she held out the handful of fungus, almost telling me to eat it. I felt myself trust her, and devoured the fungus in one gulp.
The fungus itself tasted rather odd, but then I felt some strange feeling all over my body. I slowly grew tall again, and my dreadlocks grew back. The cloaked girl smiled and wiped the remaining fungus on her cloak. She smiled at me.
"Hello, little Krawk! I'm Stereo! Who may you be?"
"Arigeitsuu...I'm a Kerishaki." I replied.
"Arigeitsuu, huh? I like that name!" Stereo sat by the water, and I sat next to her. "So you're a Kerishaki? I've heard a lot about your type. It's great to have such a remarkable creature as my Pet!"
"You saved me Stereo. I'll be more than your pet, I'll be anything to you. I'm eternally in your debt!"
Stereo reached over and ruffled my dreadlocks. "Awww, don't worry about that! As long as we're friends, that's the important thing!"
The End! ^_^
