We repair most PS Audio products. Most of the repairs we have done have
been on the many preamps in the PS line. The usual problems with these
units are related to
switch and control failure, power supply defects and bad input and
output jacks. We
usually replace the power rectifiers used in PS audio preamps as
standard procedure as the original parts were under-value and tend to
break down over time.
PS audio power amps are usually
reliable, but require
resoldering and internal connection work. If one of these amps burns up
(smoke comes out of unit) there may be no chance of repairing it. If it
simply cuts out or has audio loss from one channel it is very possible
it can be repaired at a reasonable price.
We do not repair the PS Audio
CD transports due to part availability issues. We usually replace
the power rectifiers used in PS audio preamps as standard procedure as
the original parts were under-value and tend to break down over time.
