Enkhuizen a little touristic town,
is an old village with cityrights given by king William of Orange "the first"(Willem van Oranje),in 1355.
That is why the Dutch are always in orange with sports and on Queens day.But not this Dutch girl..,

Enkhuizen is the pearl at the Ijselmeer,dates from 1000-1200.During the 16th and 17th century the city prospered,mainly due to the herringfishing and trading by the East and West -india Company (V.O.C.).Witnesses of this period are the many old buildings,such as the Dromedaris,an old defencetower at the Entrance of the harbour.

The (cowporth)Koepoort,entrance of to the city from the land and several warehouses,originally used by the V.O.C.,some presently housing the Zuiderzee museum (Southersee),with an open air museum at the Ijselmeer(lake)side.
Enkhuizen has also 2 impressive Gothic style curches and 2 Hemony carillions with weekly concerts.
The North-west part ,The Boerenhoek(farmerscorner),is rich in Canals and Bridges.

Enkhuizen is one of the oldest city's from the Netherlands.
Enkhuizen is above now these days:
"Culture,Fish,Farm,Entertainment,Historic,Music,Touristic"

Enkhuizen is fun to spend your hollidays.
It has many museums ,pubs,restaurants,hotels,dancings,old buildings and in the summerbreak it has 4 specially thursdays.
Sightseeing things to go to or to do it your self are:

"2 campings a small one at the veste and a larger at the Enkhuizer zand.,minigolf,small beach and the North sea..,subtropic swimmingpool,joule de boule,tennis,(sprookjeswonderland)fairytailwonderland,
about the old time from Holland,indoor museum also about those days and about the V.O.C. time,bottledshipsmuseum,the Dromedaris and a bowlingcenter and pool place."
And Enkhuizen is famous because of the Jazz Festival since 1973.
