Painting #84

"Dad's Glove"

"Dad's Glove" is a painting finished on March 2, 2006 for entry into Pittsfield's "Windows on Baseball" art exhibits in the summer of 2006. This was a juried show with rolling admissions. Accepted works were placed in store front windows and were for sale. The painting is 16" x 12" and brings back many memories for me. The baseball glove's model was one belonging to my father, Jack Richards, who was a fine baseball player before he entered the army during WWII. His love of the game encouraged my early participation and enjoyment of the game. And yes, along with my mother, I am a Red Sox fan! The painting is in a private collection.
