"The Bridge"

"The Bridge" was finished on April 10, 2005. It is done on canvasboard and its dimensions are 11" x 14." This bridge over a quiet stream seems to bring one to a place through the forest, a quiet place of reverie. The painting actually evolved through practicing painting trees on canvas. Trees are majestic and special to me. They signify age and endurance, often with weathered, broken limbs. I have labored long and hard to produce trees on canvas that look real; hopefully this is happening now. This painting is in the collection of Bill and Paula Morey of Pittsfield, MA.
