Painting #113:

"Mohawk Trail"

This painting is a re-paint of the painting, "Past and Gone," which I did some time ago and never really liked. This scene is totally different; I have wanted to capture the splender of the Mohawk Trail in Massachusetts for some time, particularly in an Autumn scene. I must admit, that the present exhibit at the Sterling and Francine Art Institute, featuring the Swiss landscapes of Alexandre Calame, has influenced my approach to painting the rushing headwaters of the Deerfield River. The painting is on a 30" x 24" canvas and was finished on October 21, 2006. It is for sale for $700.00.
