This wallhanging was made with hand painted fabrics,
hand painted trims and laces. There is punchneedle work
(the fish to the left, and the starfish at the bottom)
There is silkribbon work, and I tried to put a lot of
variety in the embellishment stitches on the seams.
There are antique beads from a 1900's flapper's dress,
a Mother of Pearl Butterfly button, a button under that
which came from a 1940's coat from England. There are
real pieces of turquiose, organza with burnt edges,
and silk ribbon work.
The piece is 1.5 feet wide and 2 feet tall, with a
'wavy' border to fit in with the theme. (Yes, the border is supposed to look like that)
