"RACEHORSE" style
TIRE SWING

TIE A TIRE TO A TREE
AND OVER THE YEARS IT TURNS TO ART!
Created in the Great Smoky mountains of Western North Carolina, each of our "one of a kind" tire swings has been recycled from a used racing 'slick', and handcrafted into a tire swing in the shape of a horse. Each swing is fashioned (in a single cut) out of the tire with a hand-held jigsaw, then is cleaned, painted, assembled and trimmed by hand.
These swings are made with safety in mind. The spreader bars are hardwood (usually locust or maple), and the rope used is twisted poly (rated for over 200 pounds). Cap nuts are put on with "Locktite" to prevent them from coming off by accident, and all paint used is non-toxic and lead-free. We also make a "safety-belt" version for very young children.
We have chosen to use washable yarn for the manes and tails. These are available in a large variety of colors, and with advance notice, can be made-to-order in any combination (favorite color(s), school/team colors, etc.).
Shipping is available. Current estimated shipping and handling charges
are: $15 - East coast; $25 - Midwest; $35 - West coast.
Since each swing is made from a used racing slick, any slight
imperfections are part of that tire's racing experience and individual
character.
We have never had any problems with any of our tire swings, but if one
of ours should ever "wear out or tear up", it can be shipped back and
we will be glad to exchange it for another one.
