Things that have made laugh recently                                                                  Continuing on the egotistic side:

Fernanda:            Mum, my friends saw your photos and they think you are "Stunning".

Me :                    What photos?

Fernanda:            The ones when you were 26.

Me:                     Plop !!!!!

Two of F.'s friends came over on Valentine's evening (none of the three had a date).

I was all dressed up as I did have a date with my husband. As I left the room, one

of the girls said:

"She is so pretty."

Charlotte:             (After seeing some of the "sexy" underwear I had just bought)

Mummy, don't think that I haven't seen what is on your bed?

Me:                    Am I too old to wear sexy underwear?

Charlotte:           Oh no, you are not too old at all,…..but you are a "Mother".

So, that's it folks. I am a mother and have no right to feel like a woman!

At Ch.'s school: One of the girls I made costumes for, said to Ch. :

"Charlotte , your mum is very pretty".

Conrad:              Mummy, you have big breasts.

Me:                    Oh, bless his lack of perspective!

I think that's what on my favour is the fact that I am one of the youngest mums.

Specially in F.' s case as most of the parents are in their fifties.

Back to "About me,me,me"

Things I have done:

¨ 1.- After Charlotte was born, I attended ceramic lessons and made a clock, plant pots, vases, etc.¨

¨ 2.- I got a job as Housekeeping Supervisor at the biggest hotel in town. Not very challenging, but it was a start.¨

¨ 3.- I was offered to work as a receptionist but keeping my supervisor's pay (excellent!!).¨

¨ 4.- Developed a few ideas to improve customer service, and did a 2 year course on Business Studies at De Montfort University. In the mean time, I had Conrad.¨

¨ 5.-I was promoted to Assistant Reception Manager.¨

¨ 6.-Soon after, I was offered the position of Front desk Manager. Had to decline as we were going to move south-west.¨

¨ 7.-Currently working 4 mornings a week as I decided that my children need my whole attention. Full time job and studies was very demanding. My job now, is at a fashion shop, quiet trendy and it is lots of fun. I do not have to overwork, prepare reports, organise performance reviews or presentations and I can just go home and play mummy. It is just the right thing to keep me going and prevent me from hitting my head against the walls out of boredom!¨

¨ 8.- I also help with the Liturgy Group at our Church. On a rota basis, I take the young children out of mass, read the gospel and try to make it understandable for their age, do some colouring and bring them back to mass just before communion.¨

¨ Are you surprised? Well our priest asked me to help a few days after I had been to confession. It was a long confession as I had not been for years. I told him everything and, I mean everything. I do not know if he asked me about liturgy group, because he thought my sins were not that serious after all or because he is really worried about my troubled soul and wants to help me redeem myself and make my pass through Purgatory a speedy one. Either way, he must know what he is doing, after all, he is a Monsignor.¨

9.- I have also spent many hours, mainly late at night, doing this web page. I do hope my efforts are not wasted. The worst that can happen is that the whole world will eventually realise what a mad woman I am.
