These are some meditations of mine. Some are short, some may be longer. I just find that they seem to be true in my life.

If I have learned any one thing in life, it is that the hardest thing to be is normal.

Life doesn't always seem to get better. It may not even get any better at all. That doesn't mean you have to quit living it, though.

It's really easy to annoy people who you thought were your true friends because it turns out that they aren't always your true friends. If they were, they wouldn't sugar-coat everything, but they'd definitely try to be honest and forgiving. Too many times have I realized that I had less friends than I thought.

People tend to use you if you don't set guidelines for yourself. In other words, "just say no."

Get to know yourself. That way, at least you'll know someone especially personally. You can be your own best friend, but remember that there will be times when you need someone else's shoulder to cry on.

Creativity isn't necessarily a gift. It's something given to everyone, but few tend to untie its ribbons.

Sometimes, the best way to be known is to not be known at all. People don't always expect so much of you if you don't put yourself out there.

On the other hand, some opportunities only come if you put yourself out there. Basically, if you want it, you have to go and get it.

Money has no use. It's just a dead tree that people think will satisfy them. All it does is separate people into a hierarchy of who owns the most dead trees.

If you love someone, tell them even if they don't love you in return. That way, when they really need someone, they know you love them.

Nothing does you better than a bit of time in prayer.

No matter how many small pieces you break a cookie into, you still end up eating the whole thing. Save time by enjoying it, then working out later.

I've written these meditations in a particularly sour mood. Sorry if they're depressing. I'm trying to add some humorous short stories later. Until then-

Love,
Brooke
