Chinchillas stay happy as long as you give them plenty of care and attention, and a few basics. Of course, you'll most likely spoil it rotten with a few extras,too! Below is a list of basic needs, extra treats, and cage setup ideas.Keep in mind chins are nocturnal so they need plenty to do and lots of space to move around while you are sound asleep!

A hiding place/nest house
Wooden chew toys
Dust bath sand and a dust 'bathtub'
A pet carrier for emergencies
Extra Treats
Ledges and shelves for jumping
A fleece hammock for a cozy snooze
An exercise wheel
An exrecise ball
Cage requirements
Size! The larger the better; even better with levels
Bars should be close together and NOT coated with plastic
Cost- the bigger the cage, the bigger the pricetag
Location- Where can you fit it where it will be out of sunlight, noise, and drafts?
