“Louisiana: A Quilter’s

The show dates are September
16 and 17, 2011. The show will be
presented at Kees Park, 2450 Highway 28
East, Pineville, Louisiana. Times are Friday
9AM to 6 PM, Saturday 9AM to 6PM.

To enter a quilt, you must
be a member of Patience Quilters, and have
joined by paying dues before May, 2011
Exhibitors are limited to four (4) entries
total. This includes the display only
category. All entrants will receive a free
pass to the quilt show. Also, in order to
enter a quilt, you are asked to volunteer to
work at the show.

Quilted items must have been
completed within the last 10 years and be
entered in the name of the maker(s). Family
heirloom quilts, antique quilts, etc. are
welcome for display only.

All quilts must contain a
filler (batting) sandwiched between two
layers of fabric which are joined with
quilting or tying thread. Exceptions are art
quilts, cathedral window or yo-yo quilts. No
rigid form quilts (i.e., framed) will be
accepted. Quilt tops that are not quilted
will not be accepted.

All entries must be clean
(free of dirt, smoke or animal hair, no
strong odors, e.g. smoke or mothballs)
completed and ready to hang. Soiled or
damaged items will not be accepted. A
stitched
down sleeve at a finished 4 inch width is
required. The sleeve must be
sewn,
not pinned,
to the top back of the quilt. Top of sleeve
must not be more than 90 inches from the
bottom of the quilt, so that the quilt will
not drag on the floor when hung. sleeve
exceptions are miniatures, wearable art, and
miscellaneous.
In order
to comply with copyright/trademark laws,
kits and pattern sources must be credited on
the entry form. Be certain to give credit to
everyone who worked on the quilt, or any
source you used for design or inspiration.
This information will be used for the
disclaimer to be placed on the front of the
quilt during the show.
All entries must have a
fabric label sewn on the back. The label
must contain the quilter’s name and date
completed. Additional information such as
the address of the quilter, telephone number
or other identification data is left to your
discretion. On judged pieces, the label
(front and or back) must be temporarily
covered. Wearable art labels should be
inside the garment.
A group quilt is one made by
more than two people. List the names of all
who worked on the quilt on the entry form.
