Program General Information
The program activities are open to all members of the Ottawa Valley Decorative Artist guild. The number of class participants is
set by the teacher. The registration is a first come first served basis and class fee must be paid to reserve your space.
If there are available spaces in the seminars with visiting teachers (April and September), we will have a wait-list for any non-members who may be interested. Please contact us at ovdagroup@gmail.com for further information.
Registration Fees
The total class fees collected must cover the cost of the paint-in/seminar or the
paint-in/seminar will be cancelled and the fees will be refunded. Fees are charged to cover:
- room rental fees
- teacher fees
- hospitality service (if required)
- additional costs for visiting teachers:
- transportation
- lodging
- meal allowances
- supplies (if additional supplies are required)
Paint-in
Paint-ins are 3-4 hour projects. Paint-in projects are submitted and voted on by the
OVDA members during the annual meeting held in November. Paint-in classes are held in the meeting room following the
general meeting. There is a $10 registration fee for the paint-in classes.
Seminar
Seminars are 1-2 day projects.
Member Teacher
These projects are taught by OVDA members. Member teacher projects are submitted and voted on by the
OVDA members during the annual meeting held in November. Seminar classes are held in the meeting room
(usually on a weekend day.)
Visiting Teacher
Normally a 2 to 3 year advance booking is required to book visiting teachers.
The Program Officer(s) solicit suggestions for Visiting teachers from the general membership.
The Program officer(s) contacts potential visiting teachers and and requests for project submissions. The projects for the visiting teachers are reviewed
and voted on by the Executive Board. Seminar classes are booked subject to the availability of the visiting teacher.
