Yesterday on the 10 of April 2005 at Apple Centre Taylor Square Sydney was one of the many Apple meetings from which the members of appletalk.com.au were invited to.

We had a blast, we started off at about 2:30pm (tommyPDA and me applecollector got their at 1pm) with the store owner Ben Morgan talk about the furture of Apple and whats happening currently, He also showed us some very cool

Programs some of which were, Motion a very cool program which is like Finial Cut Pro and Adobe Photoshop cs put together. and i believe he showed up a little of Garage Band! but

i could be wrong!

After a long talk about Apple and how he bought the shop and took it from know where to one of the best Apple stores in all of Sydney, He also told us about the very first apple computer he bought

(this story i love!) this is how the story goes,

Ben Morgan at the age of 18 wanted to buy and Apple Macintosh II at David Jones, So he went to the bank and borrowed $6000 dollars against it, So he took the money and went to David Jones when he arrived their he saw the Mac that he wanted so he went up to a sales person and said " I would like to buy one of those Macintosh II's please" He was so excited that when the guy came out with the

Macintosh he didn't notice that the box had different types of sticky tape all over it.

So he walked out of David Jones not knowing that the computer had been second hand, Ben hopped on a train and went home, On the long trip to Newcastle he read the User Manual and by each second he

got more and more excited.

So finailly he gotr home set up the computer and once it booted he relised that the computer had been second hand, in fact the contact details of a doctor in lane cove were still on it, from that point onwards he swore never to buy an Apple product again!

Luckly David Jones gave his money back soon after!

I thought that i should post this on my site because i thought that it's really intresting!

After the question and answer part of the day we all went over to the Apple Store (which is right next to the service centre where we were!) to play a little of Xplane, Before we started to play Ben Morgan goes "Whoever can land a 747 of this Aircraft Carrier they will win an iPod Shuffle" at first when he said it i thought it was just a joke then he says " Last time a kid managed to land the 474 and i gave him an iPod Mini" anyways while the other people were trying out the game i went out side to get some money from my bag to buy True Crime Streets of LA, Then when i went back into the shop i saw that my friend thomas AKA TommyPDA was playing Xplane so i went to observe.

He sadly crashed the plane, So he was given another go! (He crashed the second time as well :-("

But anyways then tommyPDA goes " Why don't you have a go", and i said "I don't really want to, But fine i can have a try!" So i got on and i was hopeless at first, it was so hard to control the the plane but then Ben came over to save me!, he alligned the plane so that i was headding straight for the Aircraft Carrier i was getting really close to it, then my friend says "Looks like your going to get the shuffle!"

then i replyed "No i won't, luck is never with me, and plus i have never won a thing in my life!" then i ajusted the plane so that i was more in line, then suddnly the plane goes a little off centre and ben Jumps in to help me again, So right now i have nearly landed we were both holding onto the Controler and bang it landed i quickly stepped on the two pedals to stop the Aircraft it kept going and going now i thought i might have a change of getting the iPod the plane was still going to fast, and suddnly it started to go slower and it a matter of seconds the Boeing 474 stopped i couldn't believe it, i won an iPod Shuffle and then when he handed it to me i couln't believe my eyes it wasn't the 512 it was the 1 gig one! i was and still am so happy that i'm lost for words! :-)

After i had recieved the iPos we all went back to the service centre, some people stayed outside for a smoke others went back inside, TommyPDA, me and Carrawong went and sat infront of our iMac's .

While TommyPDA and me went onto apple.com, Carrawong went to appletalk and posted a message stating, "Applecollector has just won an iPod Shuffle 1gig for landing a 474 on an Aircraft Carrier playing Xplane"

Then after everyone came back inside we got down to business, Ben Morgan and his staff gave us all Cd's to place into our iMac's, we were going to play Battle Field 1942, Sadly by the time TommyPDA and i got ready we had to go. It was an extreamly fun day yesterday and i hope sometime in the future we can have another appletalk meet at Taylor Square.
