Diabetes

Common Symptoms

Diabetes- Diabetes interferes with the way the body uses food for growth and energy. It makes it so that you have really high or low amounts of glucose or blood sugar.

There are two different types of diabetes, type 1 and type 2. Type 1 diabetes is "juvenile diabetes" and is what children get. Type 2 diabetes is adult-onset diabetes and is most commonly found in adults. However, more and more children are found to be having type 2 diabetes. Type 2 diabetes is the more dangerous type and now that more children are getting it there are more deaths from diabetes. 18 million Americans suffer from one type or another.

Ways to treat diabetes once you have it
For type 1 diabetes you have to take insulin because your body does not make enough of it.
For type 2 diabetes healthy eating, exercise, and losing weight may help you lower your blood glucose. If this does not work, you may need one or more types of diabetes pills to lower your blood glucose. After a while you might need to start getting insulin shots because your body is not making enough of it.

Staying healthy is probably one of the best things you can do to prevent it or if you have it. A healthy diet and exercise will help you out a lot and it will make you happier and less likely of getting depression which sometimes happens when you have diabetes.

It is very important to know this information even at our ages because people from all ages get diabetes and more an more younger kids are getting type two diabetes which is causing more and more deaths. If we know this information then we can make healthier choices and prevent getting diabetes.
