Worn for the official engagement portrait at Highgrove,
was this beautiful emerald green taffeta ballgown,
designed by Nettie Vogues.
The diamond earrings and necklace
were borrowed from the royal jewellers,Collingwood.

This is the costume doll by Peggy Nisbet,
Lady Diana Spencer model #P428.
It was produced in England around 1982.
It is a sweet little 8" doll,
the dress was modeled after the portraits
taken by Lord Snowdon.
The problem with this little doll's dress
is it faded out over time.
Also many variations of colors have
been seen in the fabric of this dress,
ranging from emerald green to blue!
As you can see from the many
photos of Diana here,none
of the colors are the same either!
So the dress my doll is wearing,I made.
I also added the small purse and rose.
My pictures don't show the lovely sheen and
color of the taffeta I used to recreate this dress.
The closest is the one at the bottom of the page.
I plan on making this in the Franklin Mint vinyl doll size.
Diana wore this dress on several occassions after the
wedding, adding the Deco emerald choker in place
of the borrowed diamonds. She also wore
silver shoes and matching silver evening bag.

a rare example of how the dress should look if not faded.

The bow was something I added.
Below is my dress again, before I corrected
the neckline to a rounded one.
The original Nisbet dress did not have the
full bows on the shoulders
which I prefer in my creation.
as many talented people have done,
for different size Diana dolls.
