Oh I adore this gown!!!!
This has to be my favorite of
Princess Diana's earlier fashions.
Worn to the Gonzaga exhibit at the Victoria
and Albert Museum and on other occassions
like the premier of the movie Gandhi.
She fell asleep in this dreamy gown, she
was pregnant with Prince William,officially
announced the next day after she wore this
to the Gonzaga event,so the name stuck
as the "Gonzaga" or "Sleeping Princess" gown.
Bellville Sassoon designed this truly fairy-tale gown.
A creation of hand painted white
silk chiffon,in colors of soft blues and pinks,
then beaded in silver to shimmer.
To complete this romantic look,
a satin sash and satin bows on the shoulders
and key-hole opening in front.
The replica in doll size was made
by Pam,a very gifted designer!
Her version was made to fit the vinyl
Princess Diana doll, but was so ethereal and
magical I had to put it on my porcelain
Franklin Mint "Diana,Princess of Style".
I wish I had a full length view!
I wish you could see how gorgeous
her hand painted-beaded version is!
I wish my cat didn't love this so much
I have to fight her each time I try and scan!
And lastly,if I ever stop long enough
buying Princess Diana clothes and dolls,
maybe I could afford a digital camera!
