~Diana,Queen of Fashion~doll

Franklin Mint's porcelain portrait doll,
"Diana,Queen of Fashion"
Dressed in the gown worn in Saudi Arabia,
originally designed by Catherine Walker.
This cream silk dress features embroidered and sequined
falcons in honor of the host country's royalty.
The gown's modestly cut,in keeping
with this country's traditions concerning female attire.

A rather plain doll, by other standards,
Franklin Mint chose a somewhat over-the-top name.
Still it is a sweet and younger
looking Diana, but the photo does not
give a true likeness. Her nose is not so
"snubbed",nor should it be.
And the train is not quite as long,
at least not on my doll's dress!
The Mint did a very nice replica on the gown and doll.
I wish I had a lovely photo of Diana
actually wearing this,
but I do not know of any, sadly.
Below is a photo of the detail work
on the actual dress.
