About The Personal Side:

Me, Myself, and I.....

  • graduated from Gregory High School in Gregory, SD
    • born and raised in this great rural community (there's nothing like the clean, fresh smell of country air)

    • the Hallmark of where my parents raised me and still reside

  • graduated from Arizona State University
    • felt success come when my psych professor put me in charge of an information dissemination (critical thinking in today's society) experiment in conjunction with the psychology department
      • will take test results to my grave ~ real top secret
      • on the other hand......
        • the results indicated our student participants (lab rats) turned out to have more intelligence than we thought (which kind of ruined our little experiment)
        • makes you wonder what the results would have been had we used the average Joe Doe off the street (ever watch Jay Leno's sidewalk interviews?)

Cactus Jack

  • lived in Arizona from 1983 to 1998

    • exciting to get out and move to the big city
    • too many people (millions) followed me down there (not anyone I knew personally, but still........)
      • results:
        • too much smog
        • atrocious road conditions (rush hour all day long, construction all year long)
          Left Curve
(and snowbirds making right-hand turns from left lane)
        • crime and con-artists rampant
        • (if truth be told, I still love it down there, my "second family" still lives down there, my heart is down there, I just hope no one else gets ideas of moving down there)

  •  just a tad artsy-fartsy:
    • jewelry designer
    • writer
      • poetry (practically have book ready to publish)
        • had a couple of my poems read at the State Poet Laureate Society Meeting when I was 17, but I was 15 when I wrote one of the poems (it was about the buffalo that I could see as a silhouette amidst the Fort Robinson, Nebraska, backdrop as lightening lit the summer night sky while traveling to the Grand Tetons in Wyoming ~ very inspirational)
      • in the process of writing a cookbook for people with certain dietary intolerances
Salad PrepChopping VegiesLemonade PrepRolling in the Dough
    • painter and sculptor ~ but not too much these days (my NOT so famous collection mostly family and friend-owned)
      • acrylic and mixed media

  • have a wonderful collection of nieces and nephews compliments of:
    • my older sister and brother-in-law
      • four in all, big brother and then the next three are triplets! (born on December 7th) who are six now and as big as my sister, so you can imagine what my poor teeny tiny sister went through
    • my younger brother and sister-in-law
      • begat a couple wee ones in the past two and a half years (soooo CEWT)
    • I am well known to the kiddies as their favorite hanging and climbing tree
      • the kids are the apple of my eye
      • the kit in my caboodle
      • the froth in my beer
      • the fragrance of a rose
      • the.....(you get the picture)

YinYang

  • recently recovered from a serious life-threatening illness that propelled me to combine yoga and other alternative therapies and healing techniques which were incorporated into a whole new life-style centering around holistic well-being
    • a very spiritual and time-consuming process that taught me tools to overcome the greatest of adversities
      • opened my mind to new possibilities, new horizons
      • educated to the virtue of patience:
        • for life's many curveballs
      • newfound ability to exist in a whole new definition of reality
        • changed previously held philosophy on life, the scope of reality along with the real limitations we impose upon ourselves
      • coping skills became highly developed
      • interesting strategies helped cut me loose from old patterns which were restrictive and reactive
        • proactively involved in life's course of challenges (nothing to lose, everything to gain)
        • versatility of physical, mental and emotional freedom to adapt, change, move, grow
        • ability to transform and expand rather than remain rooted in an inflexible state of being
      • replaced a lifetime of old habits with a healthy and positive lifestyle
    • feel an incredible compassion for others
      • a whole, new understanding for the way lessons are given through self and others for powerful and amazing benefits, all of which enhances the transformation process in life
