FilmThis will be a film exploring the way in which causality effects us all. Causality is the idea that everything must have a reason for happening, some point from which the event started. This is sort of a scientific version of the "will of God", it appears that if you take causality to its logical conclusion anything that happens can only lead from what has happened before, therefore everything is essentially preordained. The opposite of Causality would be uncertainty. This is the theory that, on a quantum level the act of observing something changes the item being observed. The age old addage that follows this is "if a tree falls in the woods and nobody hears it, does it make a sound?" this intimates that the witness is necessary for the certainty, and it is impossible to be certain unless something is witness. You could say that in all known experience trees that fall in woods make noise, but all these experiences have occured in the presence of a witness, therefore the certainty comes from the witness not the event. This film will try to follow this through a series of tableau's based on the nature of experience, history, narrative, and resolution. |
