The Two K's

Karen Spenser and Kate Goodchild assisted me with the creation of the body cast.

Me

After shaving my entire body and smearing various parts with petrolium jelly. I lay on the floor with trepidation, waiting for the ladies to apply the Alginate.

Karen starts at the middle

SOon after the ladies have mixed the Alginate - we used the white slow set Alginate - Karen applies it to my genitally whilst Kate turns her back. (Kate agreed to help out as long as she didn't have to see certain parts of me.)

Body all goo'd up

This is a shot of the top half of my body cover in the white Alginate (from now on just called Goo).

Same shot different angle

As can be seen from the colour of my skin, the goo was VERY cold. As this shot was take I had to try to stop myself shivering.

Completely covered

This is a shot of me completely covered in the goo. Half way to the completed piece. I can't begin to describe how cold it was, my joints were aching.

Mummy

This is a shot of Karen applying the first layer of Plaster bandages.

Mummy Returns

And this is me, completely encased in the first layer of bandages.

The Scorpion King

Look, I was running out of frame titles okay. This is me after the second coating of plaster bandages. The aching has grown by this time, but the temperature of the goo has risen so the shivering has subsided.

Abbot and Costello Meet The Mummy

Okay, I know, it's getting ridiculous. This is Karen ftrying to make sure the bandages enclose me down the sides of my legs.

Bring on the sarcofagus

This is the complete mold. All I had to do was wait until it dried.

Disaster

We waited until it dried. Unfortunatley, the mold, including the mother mold fell to pieces as it was removed from me.

Save SOMETHING

We look to see what is rescuable. Not a lot. We end up with a foot.

Leyton Kate and Cast

Leyton, who has been documenting these on camera, shows what the mold is like. Not pretty. Back to the drawing board.
