This was my main project in my 4-H leather class this year (2003), and I think that it was well worth the effort. Starting from nothing but ideas, I talked my mom into drawing the dragon (because I'm horrible at reptiles), drew the flowers and layout myself, and freehanded all the decorative cuts. The finish is a Supershene resist with a medium brown antique over it. Inside there's a pocket for a 6" sketchbook, pencil pockets, and three hidden pockets for loose papers.
