Imagine GIDGET crossed with THE THREE FACES OF EVE and MOMMIE DEAREST. Chicklet, a perky teenager from Malibu Beach circa 1962, wants to learn how to surf and join a group of local, hunky beach bums lead by the great Kanaka. Unfortunately, she suffers from a multiple personality disorder which causes her to transform into various other selves, including the notorious Ann Bowman, a sinister vamp out to conquer the world. Complications arise when a sexy B-Movie starlet flees the set of her latest rotten film to hide out at the beach. The climax is a wild luau scene where hypnosis reveals the shocking root of Chicklet's psychosis. This "killer" comedy by award-winning playwrite Charles Busch is a must-see for the summer season. We are looking for performers with good comedic timing, a professional attitude and some ability to move since there will be some light dancing in this production. Those interested should prepare a 1-2 minute comedic monologue. ALL ROLES ARE CURRENTLY OPEN! There is a possibility that some roles may be cross-gendered (i.e. Mrs. Forrest, Bettina Barnes, Berdine.) Actors from the Saturday audition may be asked to return for a callback during the Sunday audition, so please keep schedules free. Auditions will take place at The Sunshine Brooks Theater located at 217 North Coast Hwy in Oceanside (Near the corner of Coast Hwy/Pier View Way.) Rehearsals will be held during the week throughout June and performances will be held on Friday and Saturday evenings in July (Starting after the 4th.)
