Macramé
is the art of creative knotting. If you know how to tie
your shoes, then you can do macramé - It's that easy!!
Really! And you can macramé anything from lawn chair
seats, which are very popular, to plant hangers, to fine
jewelry!!!
All
you need to do macramé is some cord or yarn and a dowel or some
brass rings. Most macramé cord I use is either twisted
(referred to as Holly Twist) or braided (known as Bonnie
Braid). You are by no means limited to using these two
cords. Many experienced macramé crafters use a thin
silver wire to create macramé jewelry. You can buy
most of these items at many arts &craft stores or check out
my macramé links to order
online.
When
I have more time I will add instructions for all the basic knots
used in macramé, but for now see below to learn only about the
knot for this project. If you already know the macramé
knots, let's learn how to make a spice
rope.
