Biography
I am the oldest
child out of three. My brother, Jeff, is fifteen. My sister, Stefanie, is
eleven. My parents are Jim and Connie Simpson. My father is self-employed
working as a mechanical engineer. My mother is returning in the field of teaching
at an elementary school. My family and I have a dog and a cat. My siblings and
I have all been born and raised in Carmel Indiana.
Every since I could
hold a pencil I loved to draw. What I drew changed over the years. Elementary
school through junior high I loved to draw cartoons. I think that I spent more
time in class drawing cartoons then paying attention to the teacher. Once I
started high school and got some drawing classes under my belt, I expanded as
an artist. I got more interested in still life and working from photographs. I
loved to draw what I see and add my own little spin to it.
Now every little boy or girls needs a sport to play while growing up, so I tried a number of sports. I tried soccer for two seasons, and then I took a stab at baseball for a season, but none of them sparked my interest. Then I tried ice hockey when I was in the fourth grade, and I loved it. My mom wasn’t too keen on me playing a full contact sport, but that didn’t matter. I played in the house leagues all the through junior high. Then I started playing for Carmel High School’s team. I played for Carmel for three years. For a number of reasons I decided not to play my senior year. I picked hockey back up when I went off to college at Ball State. Since Ball State didn’t have an ice hockey team I join their roller hockey club. Played that my first year, and now I’m starting my second year playing for them.
