What about creating your own ezine?
Mood:  cool
Now Playing: Thoughts on having your own ezine.
Topic: EZINES2
Feel like running your own show? If you have plenty of time, managing your own ezine might be a solution...First of all, if you aren't familiar with ezines, try doing a search and subscribing to a few for a while. Some of them are quite creative with contests and jokes and all sorts of new and entertainment bits. Others focus on advertising and solo ads. The main way the people who manage ezines make their money is through charging for advertising, though a lot of free advertising is given away on some, usually in a less prominent position on the ezine/newsletter format. However, as an artist or crafter, this may prove to be more of a challenge than you barained for if you want to create an ezine of your own.

For starters, you will most likely need training. When they first started, it there was a lot of free information, but as ezines have progressed, training is now usually offered at a price. Then there are further costs, when you need to purchase autotransponders, unless you go to a service that offers limited autotranspoders in exchange for their advertisements. What's an autotransponder? Basically it's an automatic transpoder or responder to any inquiry you choose to write. Or, companies use them to send automatic mailings and courses and newsletters promoting various areas of interest and/or training. They can be somewhat complicated, and somewhat time consuming to set up, if you want to write your own scripts for them.

If you subscribe to a few ezines, you will become more familiar with the number of times they send out emails, and of course you will have to build up your email listings as you promote your ezine to try to gain new subscribers.

One little advantage of managing your own ezine is that you can promote your own programs and agendas for free, thus giving you top billing on any new affiliate programs and other advertising promotions you choose to invest your time in. Of course, you will have to search these out and join them as well.

Starting to sound a little complicated yet? It's really a small business in its own right, and might become more time consuming than your craft or art. And, like any business, it's going to take lots of time and a whole lot of effort before you see a substantial return on your investment. I'm not saying it's a bad or poor investment of your time, but be careful of becoming too involved in MLMs and watch out for pyramid schemes (which of course are illegal) but if you're a chain letter type of person, you go along with it anyway, and may or may not find success. MLM by the way, stands for multi-level-marketing, which simply means there are various levels that you work or pay your way up in a program, and try to get others signed up for doing the same thing you are doing, selling others on your program, and so on... You promote by submitting ads to ezines and classified advertising and so on...These may be free or paid for, depending upon how badly you want to work your way up that ladder. And, I think you can probably figure out how many things are truly free, and if so, are they truly worth it?

So, as many of the other articles I have written, what it comes down to in creating and maintaining your own ezine, is, whether you want that to become your main emphasis, or your craft the main emphasis. Once again, the choice is yours...
