Coloring
Walkthrough
Okay
Welcome to da Colormastah's "Tutorial of
Coloring-ificness Type of Situation"
First off, this is kind of a second version to my last tutorial
so definately expect this one to be a tad bettah ;)
I'm also gonna delve into some stuff i've not covered before so
here we go!
First step is getting some line art. There are some people out
there who like to color over pencils instead of inks and then
there are those pieces that are so good that they havent made it
to the inking stage yet.
I know a lot of artists who do their drawings/sketches with blue
line so im gonna give ya a quick run down on how to
"ink" them blue lines with a piece of art I've drawn
mahself ;)
To convert a blue line [or any other color of line work you come
across] to black just follow these simple steps:
1. go to Image>Mode>Greyscale
This should automatically turn the pic grey or if you're lucky
black. But what if it just aint black enuff?
Simple fixing is all it is
I usually go up to Image>Adjust>Auto Levels
This should blacken the lines up a good bit. If it still aint
black enough i usually go to Image>Adjust>Levels and
manually mess with it until it gets nice and dark
One thing to be careful about is that when you mess with the
black and white levels, it can pixelate the pic a tad so alls i
do to fix it is go to Filter>Blur>Guassian Blur with it set
somewhere around a .3 or .4 blurr
This should fix things up all for ya and you have some nice
clean, "inked" line art to start coloring
