Dawn Boat Poem
by
Stephen Paul Coffey

The Dawn Boat leaves once a day
With no ferryman for them to pay
With no fear they face the dawn
Their mortal enemy for so long.

Some lived for many a year
Others new, but no shed of tear
For to live others must die
As this moment the sun sets their eyes.

A step to the shore the journey begins
This is no attrition for their sins
Most don't feel for the lives they take
As the Dawn Boat they take.
