FADE IN:
EXT. ST. PETERS SQUARE, VATICAN CITY -- MORNING
Its early morning and outside the Vatican, there is a huge gathering of parishioners waiting under and in front of the POPE'S balcony. Everyone is looking up to the balcony waiting, there is a look of despair on their faces.
EXT. POPE'S BALCONY VATICAN CITY -- MORNING
The balcony doors open, CARDINAL RIVICI AND CARDINAL MAGUIRE, both aging men exit. The two Cardinals stand at the open door and a young Pope comes bounding through the doors onto the balcony. POPE JOHN PAUL III, is a Las Vegas style thirty year old, his clothing seems to be the same as all the other Pope's, but with more sparkle. The Pope blows kisses and winks down at the crowd, as a rock star would coming onto his stage.
EXT. ST. PETERS SQUARE, VATICAN CITY -- MORNING
The crowd goes ballistic, erupting in a wave of screams and excitement. Some of the gathering faint with their overexertion.
EXT. POPE'S BALCONY VATICAN CITY -- MORNING
The Pope is now starting to motion his hands for the crowd to calm down. The silence covers the crowd.
POPE JOHN PAUL III
(happy)
It is my pleasure to be your new Pope.
There is an explosion of sound again, and once again the Pope motions with his hands to calm the crowd down, which they obediently do.
POPE JOHN PAUL III (CONT'D)
I'm going to bring in some changes, which will move the
church into the new millennium. I would like to announce
the first of these measures here today.
There is a audible hush over the crowd.
POPE JOHN PAUL III (CONT'D)
We're going to change the stand of the church for Priests
to marry!
There is a gasp of shock from the crowd.
POPE JOHN PAUL III (CONT'D)
This is to get the numbers of Priests joining back up.
'BOO's' Start to come from the crowd, the smile on the face of the Pope fades, he gets nervous and starts to back up. When the Pope is behind the balcony doors, the two Cardinals close the doors, but stay on the balcony. The 'BOO's' are more aggressive now. The Cardinals step forward to the edge of the balcony and start to motion with their hands.
CARDINAL MAGUIRE
(thick Irish accent)
C'mon now people, give the lad a chance.
INT. POPE'S OFFICE THE VATICAN -- MORNING
The Pope comes into his office, using a handkerchief to wipe sweat off his brow. The office is grand, with priceless pieces of art hanging on the walls. A large wooden desk is near a window, and a chair is behind it. Sitting in the chair is a teenage boy, seventeen years old, dressed as a Goth, but without the face paint. His name is CHRESTFELT, his hair is long, covering most of his face. The Pope looks puzzled, and then looks back to the door.
POPE JOHN PAUL III
Are you in the right place son?
CHRESTFELT
(calm)
Don't call me son!
A breeze of air comes through one of the window, moving the hair that covers Chrestfelt's face. Chrestfelt has a long scar down the right side of his face, with the end of the scar near his chin being in a curve turning back up his face, but only for an inch. The Pope is horrified, like he has seen a ghost, the Pope takes two steps back, not taking his eyes off Chrestfelt.
POPE JOHN PAUL III
(shock)
You? You are dead!
Chrestfelt stands up and walks around the desk, the Pope goes to turn and run out the doors, but with a simple motion of Chrestfelt's hand the doors close shut. This does not stop the Pope from trying to get through the doors, but they are locked. The Pope turns around and faces Chrestfelt, who is sitting on the front of the desk now.
POPE JOHN PAUL III (CONT'D)
(pleading)
It wasn't my idea, believe me.
CHRESTFELT
(calm)
You went along with it though.
POPE JOHN PAUL III
I had no choice, I would have lost everything.
CHRESTFELT
(calm)
And me? You didn't care what I lost?
POPE JOHN PAUL III
I've spent my life in service to the church. I've
confessed my sins and served my penance.
CHRESTFELT
You turned your back on the magic, you murdered me.
POPE JOHN PAUL III
We did what we had to do, the power was controlling you.
Chrestfelt stands up and walks slowly towards the Pope.
CHRESTFELT
Not controlling, but sharing, we exist together now.
Years and years on another plain, my youth intact. Our
domination will occur when our vengeance is satisfied.
Chrestfelt stands in front of the terrified Pope, and raises his hands. The Pope starts to raise into the air, and the thick golden chain, which carries a crucifix, around his next starts to spin. Chrestfelt smiles evilly, as the Pope is hovering in the air in front of him. The gold chain starts to spin faster and faster. The chain starts to dig into the neck of the Pope. More and more blood starts to fall down the white of the Pope's suit onto the floor. As the chain gathers speed the pain on the face of the Pope is clear and unpleasant, still Chrestfelt smiles his evil smile. The Pope's head falls to the ground, along with the gold chain and crucifix. Chrestfelt lowers his hands, and the body of the Pope falls over his body.
CHRESTFELT (CONT'D)
Number one.
Two members of the Swiss guard, in their traditional uniforms come bursting into the office. Chrestfelt smiles at them. The Swiss Guards are holding their spears at the ready. The Guards look at the body of the slain Pope and then angrily turn their attention back to Chrestfelt.
SWISS GUARD ONE
(anger)
Don't move.
Chrestfelt waves at the Guards and with a click of his fingers smoke starts to form around him. Soon the entire room is filled with smoke. The Guards are choking on the smoke. After a few seconds the smoke clears and Chrestfelt is gone. The Guards look around them to see if he is hiding.
EXT. ST. PETERS SQUARE, VATICAN CITY -- MORNING
At the back of the crowd Chrestfelt is moving through the crowd, people move away from him, allow him to pass. Chrestfelt walks away from the crowd, black smoke starts to billow out of a spout on the roof of the Vatican.
EXT. LAKE BY WOODS -- DAY
A sunny day, the lake is large, the woods surrounding it dense. There is a small rowing boat with one fisherman occupying it. On the shore there is a one man tent, a large vehicle, with a trailer to carry the boat. A fire is burning out in front of the tent.
EXT. SMALL FISHING BOAT -- DAY
The wooden fishing boat is painted white, with a blue rim around it. On the boat, with his fishing rod cast out, is WILLIAM ENNIS, the same age as the Pope. William is wearing typical fishing gear, and is overweight. William is very relaxed, not paying too much attention to the fishing, more relaxing.
EXT. LAKE BY WOODS -- DAY
At the campsite, Chrestfelt walks out of the woods, wearing the same clothes all the time, the hair is brushed out of his eyes. Chrestfelt stops walking at the edge of the water. There is a look of hate on Chrestfelt's face.
EXT. SMALL FISHING BOAT -- DAY
At the boat, William's attention is drawn to the shore, and in the distance he can see the teenage Chrestfelt, though he doesn't know who it is. A disgruntled look comes over the face of William. With aggravation William sits up.
WILLIAM ENNIS
(angry shouting)
Hey kid! Get away from my tent!
EXT. LAKE BY WOODS -- DAY
Chrestfelt smiles his evil grin. He bends down to the dying fire and puts his hand into the centre of the fire. There is no pain registering on the face of Chrestfelt. Chrestfelt takes his hand out of the fire and in the palm of his hand there is a burning flame. Chrestfelt holds the flame close to his face, and then lower, about to his chest. Chrestfelt starts to walk along the surface of the water towards the boat.
EXT. SMALL FISHING BOAT -- DAY
William looks in awe, not fear, at Chrestfelt walking on water coming towards him. When Chrestfelt is near to the boat, the haunting reality comes to William that he knows who this teenager is.
CHRESTFELT
(calm)
Hello William. My how you've grown, as you see though, I
have not.
William reaches to pull the outboard motor wire to start the engine, but, by the time William turns back around Chrestfelt is sitting in front of William. Chrestfelt is still holding the fire in his hand.
WILLIAM ENNIS
(nervous)
Victor, it's been a long time.
CHRESTFELT
(smiling)
It has, a long time. But now we are together again.
WILLIAM ENNIS
(nervous still)
How?
CHRESTFELT
(calm)
I survived, that hot place, hotter than hell, with the
magic that you and the others would have taken from me.
WILLIAM ENNIS
You know me, I just went along with the crowd.
CHRESTFELT
Still you went along.
WILLIAM ENNIS
(nervous)
I'm rich now, anything you want, money, contacts, or
anything, I can get to you.
Chrestfelt covers the fire with both hands, William takes in a deep breath. Chrestfelt smiles his evil grin, and then slowly opens his hands, the fire has taken the shape of a stinging insect. The FIRE STINGER takes flight and starts to attack William. William tries to fight off the stinging with his hands, but it's no use, the fire passes through his hands. The marks from the sting are burning welts.
CHRESTFELT
You try buy your salvation with your wealth.
The attack from the Fire Stinger continues against William.
CHRESTFELT (CONT'D)
All you had to do was stand with me, now you'll burn.
The Fire Stinger multiples with each attack, soon there are fifty Fire Stingers. William is screaming with agony, his body is covered with major burns, his clothes showing the small burns from the attacks. Chrestfelt stands up and steps back into the lake. Chrestfelt starts to walk on the surface, back to the shore. Behind Chrestfelt the Fire Stingers are still attacking William, and still William is trying in vain to fight them off.
CHRESTFELT (CONT'D)
Now to put you out of pain.
Chrestfelt clicks his fingers and the boat explodes. Chrestfelt continues to walk to the shore.
EXT. LARGE PRISON FACILITY -- NIGHT
In the middle of a desert, the large prison facility stands out plainly. There are large electrified fences around the parameter. Inside the parameter there are three watchtowers that bisect the area, with guards looking out the surround windows, shotguns in hand. The main building of the prison has well armed men patrolling the roof top.
INT. LARGE PRISON FACILITY -- NIGHT
The interior of the prison. The cells are small, one man cells. The front of the cells are reinforced glass. As we move down the cells we see that most of the prisoners are asleep, though some are still awake, lurking around the dark like caged animals. At the end of the corridor, LUKE STRAW, in his thirties, is sitting on the floor of his cell, deep in meditation.
LUKE STRAW (V.O.)
He's back, one day we knew he would come back. Two have
fallen, ten, including me, remain. I'm in prison for his
crimes. Someone has to stop him.
Luke's eyes open suddenly.
LUKE STRAW (CONT'D)
(commitment)
I have to stop him.
Luke stands up and waves his hands at the door of the cell. The door opens and the sirens start to roar.
EXT. LARGE PRISON FACILITY -- NIGHT
On the outside there is a flurry of activity, armored swat teams are starting to move around the grounds. Lights come on all around the grounds, and the parameter. Guards with guard dogs are now patrolling the parameter.
INT. LARGE PRISON FACILITY -- NIGHT
Luke, dressed in basic prison fatigues, bare feet, starts to walk down the corridor of cells. The majority of the other inmates are banging on the clear cells doors, screaming their approval. Luke is very aware of his surroundings. Two guards run down the corridor, towards Luke.
GUARD ONE
(to partner)
How'd he get out?
GUARD TWO
Don't know, don't care.
GUARD ONE
So much for the ideal prisoner.
GUARD TWO
No such thing.
Luke calmly places his hands out, and the two guards fall asleep while in mid running. As Luke passes the two unconscious guards he looks at them. Luke starts to pick up pace, he's running straight at a solid brick wall now, just before the wall Luke dives head first at the wall. Luke disappears instantly.
EXT. LARGE PRISON FACILITY -- NIGHT
Luke appears in the middle of the courtyard, with the armored swat teams around him. The swat teams turn and raise their guns at Luke.
SWAT TEAM MEMBER
(aggressive shouting)
Don't move.
Luke looks around at the huge member of swat members around him. The swat teams move in closer and closer. Luke closes his eyes, and like dominoes the swat members start to topple over. When the last one has fallen, Luke opens his eyes and lets out an exhausted breath. Luke spots that other guards are about to surround him. Smoke starts to form around Luke, until his position is covered in a distinct pillar of smoke. As the guards close in on the position, the smoke clears and Luke is gone. The guards rush around to check the rest of the grounds.
EXT. THE DESERT -- NIGHT
A mile from the parameter fencing Luke is walking away from the prison. The lights and sirens can be seen and heard in the distance.
LUKE STRAW (V.O.)
He won't take long to find. He'll be looking for me. It
was my decision to send him there. Twelve there were,
two down, me, and nine to warn. This is going to be
grim.
Luke walks into the desert darkness.
EXT. CHRESTFELT'S HIDEOUT -- NIGHT
Chrestfelt walks up the large church. The Church is run down, all the stained glass windows are smashed to one extent or another. The parameter of the church is surrounded by a large fence, with graffiti painted on it. There is a notice that demolition is about to be carried out, the sign is battered. Chrestfelt passes through a hole in the fence, into the main grounds of the church. Chrestfelt walks to the main door and passes through the large wooden doors.
INT. CHRESTFELT'S HIDEOUT -- NIGHT
The inside of the church is dusty, cold, and damp. Chrestfelt walks along the aisle, with many of the wooden pews broken and misplaced. The alter at the top is marble, all the crosses in the church are turned upside down. Chrestfelt looks tired, but an evil tired.
EVIL BOOM (O.S.)
(booming voice)
You spend too much effort on revenge.
CHRESTFELT
(tired aggravated)
What is the point of taking this action, unless they
suffer.
EVIL BOOM (O.S.)
Two are down, ten remain, but one now seeks you.
Chrestfelt thinks for a moment, then smiles.
CHRESTFELT
Luke Straw. The leader.
EVIL BOOM (O.S.)
You should finish the ten off quickly, and fulfill your
duty to me.
CHRESTFELT
Do you believe Demon, that I will fail?
EVIL BOOM
You have the power of darkness on your side, you shall
not fail.
CHRESTFELT
(evil tired)
Allow me to rest Demon, tiring work this evil.
Chrestfelt lays down on top of the alter, resting his head on a bible. Slowly Chrestfelt's dark eyes close.
EXT. ALLEYWAY -- NIGHT
Luke runs down a dark alleyway. The alleyway is at the back of some restaurants, there is rotting fruit and vegetables in crates on the ground. Luke is exhausted, there are large welts on his feet from the running. Luke is still wearing the prison clothes that he had on when he escaped. Luke collapses on the ground, trying to gain his breath back. The back door of one of the restaurants open, a KITCHEN AID comes out of the door, she is wearing normal kitchen clothes. The Kitchen Aid is carrying a clear plastic bag, inside are the remains of cooked chicken. The Kitchen Aid looks to Luke, and a sorrowful look comes over her face. Kitchen Aid puts the back down beside Luke.
KITCHEN AID
(pity)
Here, you might as well have it, better than it going in
the bins.
LUKE STRAW
(weak)
Bless you.
The Kitchen Aid gives Luke one last look of pity and then goes back in through the back door of the restaurant. Luke sits up, and rests his back on the wall of the building. He opens the bag of chicken and then starts to savage the meat, but makes sure to stack the bones carefully and neatly to one side. When all the chicken is gone, Luke takes the bones in his hands. Luke starts to rub his hands together, and blows at his hands. Luke releases the chicken bones into the air, the bones fall on the ground in a pattern and Luke reads the bones with interest. Luke stands to his feet, he keeps his eyes on the bones. Luke claps his hands together, and his prison garb transforms into smart casual street clothes. Luke wipes the dust form his sleeves, turns around and walks back down the alley into the streets.
INT. WOOD CLEARING -- NIGHT
In the woods, snow is falling, it's been falling for hours. The clearing, a roundish space, a large wood fire burning in the centre. Two old men sit facing each other across the flames. The two old men are dignified.
OLD MAN ONE
(calm)
He has returned, first to seek revenge.
OLD MAN TWO
(calm)
Then to seek dark power.
OLD MAN ONE
He should have been killed.
OLD MAN TWO
The decision was out of our hands.
OLD MAN ONE
The argument is pointless, action is necessary.
OLD MAN TWO
The executioner approaches.
From the woods Luke comes out. The Old Men do not turn to watch Luke, but they know he is there. Luke sits down between the two old men, from above they form a triangle of points.
LUKE STRAW
Elders, I thank you for this meeting.
OLD MAN ONE
There was little choice, you are the only one.
OLD MAN TWO
Your escape will make this harder.
LUKE STRAW
This is my mess, I have to stop him
OLD MAN ONE
You chose a prison for yourself that couldn't hold you.
OLD MAN TWO
As you chose a prison for Chrestfelt that couldn't hold him.
LUKE STRAW
I went to prison to pay for Chrestfelt's crimes, his pnt
to
OLD MAN ONE
LUKE STRAW
I will stop him. Just need to know how?
OLD MAN TWO
He must die. By mortal means.
OLD MAN ONE
Only mortal death will rid us of him.
OLD MAN TWO
We will not help further, we cannot kill mortally.
LUKE STRAW
I understand.
Luke stands up and walks from the fire into the woods, within seconds Luke has disappeared.
OLD MAN ONE
The danger is overwhelming.
OLD MAN TWO
We must make preparations in case of failure.
The flames from the fire grow higher into the night.
EXT. BUSINESS DISTRICT -- NIGHT
The streets are calm, few cars are driving around. Men and Women are leaving the various buildings, heading home for the night. FRED PERRY, in his thirties, a Janitor, is entering the tallest building in the district, The Hall Building. The Hall Building is a massive sky scraper, with mirrored glass windows. Fred Enters the glass doors of the building. The figure of Chrestfelt is standing on the street, staring intently at Fred. As Fred moves towards the escalators, he waves at the security guards at the desks. Outside the doors, Chrestfelt is now on the outside of the doors looking through the glass at Fred. Fred does not notice this.
INT. THE HALL BUILDING -- NIGHT
Fred is pushing his janitor's trolley along the aisles of the open plan office. Fred is whistling as he pushes the trolley along, and seems genuinely happy. Fred stops the trolley and goes to a desk, at the side of the desk there is a full waste paper basket. Fred picks up the basket and empties it into the massive bin at the front of his trolley.
EXT. THE HALL BUILDING -- NIGHT
Outside the building. Chrestfelt is holding his palms down, as he hovers up to the top of the building. Chrestfelt is hundreds of feet off the ground. Chrestfelt has risen to the floor that Fred is working on. The mirrored glass reflects Chrestfelt's image.
CHRESTFELT
(growling)
Reflection to intention.
The mirrored glass turns clear, and Fred can be seen working. Chrestfelt's evil smile comes across his face. Chrestfelt hovers closer to the glass of the building.
INT. THE HALL BUILDING -- NIGHT
Back inside. Fred is wiping down a desk, spraying it with a clear blue liquid. Something comes over him. Fred looks up to the glass, and he is faced with his own reflection. Fred puts down the spray bottle and walks towards the reflective glass. Pure confusion comes over Fred, as he reaches out and touches the reflection of his own hand. Fear starts to crawl across Fred's face.
FRED PERRY
(understanding)
Chrestfelt.
Fred backs up from the glass, keeping his eyes on the glass, knowing that something is behind it. The reflection of Fred starts to degenerate, as though a quick onslaught of leprosy has come over him. The reflection of Fred has skin coming off him, the color of which is disgusting. The real Fred is unchanged, though he is frightened a little by the horrific image in front of him. Fred raises his hand to his face. Fred smiles.
FRED PERRY (CONT'D)
(relieved)
Just a Glamour.
Fred continues to back up. Fred backs up so far that he bumps into his trolley. Fred looks around nervous, but his nerves are subsiding into preparation.
The mirrored glass, now facing inwards, starts to shake, like ripples in the water. Slowly the mirror covered figure of Chrestfelt appears through the glass. Rather than shatter, the mirrored glass stretches out to compensate for the passing. Finally the mirrored covering starts to recede as Chrestfelt steps foot on the inside flooring.
CHRESTFELT
(smiling)
Frederick.
FRED PERRY
(trying to be calm)
Hugo.
CHRESTFELT
Two have fallen, they let the magic go.
FRED PERRY
I thought it was coincidence.
CHRESTFELT
No such luck.
FRED PERRY
You are here to do the same to me?
CHRESTFELT
It's a certainty.
FRED PERRY
Just one thing though.
CHRESTFELT
You planning on a plead for your life?
FRED PERRY
I wouldn't insult you so.
Chrestfelt nods in approval.
CHRESTFELT
You always were a man of honor. What is it?
FRED PERRY
Were the others were lacking, I'm not!
Fred launches his hands forward and when they are at full stretch a mass of blue flames burst out towards Chrestfelt. The force from the blue flames pushes Chrestfelt from his standing position out through the window. Chrestfelt is shocked but impressed.
EXT. THE HALL BUILDING -- NIGHT
Outside. Chrestfelt is blasted out high above the streets. The sight is akin to that of an entire fireworks show all at once. Chrestfelt manages to hold his altitude though, by again placing his palms pointing towards the ground. Chrestfelt's skin is scorched but it heals quickly.
INT. THE HALL BUILDING -- NIGHT
Fred continues to let the blue flames come out of his hands, but it is starting to be a weakening task. Finally Fred lets his blue flames stop, the effort has taking his strength. Fred is weak but remains standing.
EXT. THE HALL BUILDING -- NIGHT
As the last of the blue flame burst hits Chrestfelt, he smiles. The burnt clothes and skin of Chrestfelt starts to repair itself. Once Chrestfelt is fully healed he starts moving back towards the building. The closer Chrestfelt gets to the building the more speed he picks up.
INT. THE HALL BUILDING -- NIGHT
Inside the building. Fred is preparing himself for the counter attack from Chrestfelt. Chrestfelt is flying quickly and towards Fred. Fred braces himself as Chrestfelt fly's straight into him. Fred is being pushed through the office furniture, towards the windows on the other side of the building. Fred is trying to push himself off from Chrestfelt. Chrestfelt is smiling, as he can hear ribs being broken inside Fred. They reach the glass at the other side of the building, Fred is bloody, Chrestfelt is still smiling. Fred's body is used to break through the glass.
EXT. THE HALL BUILDING -- NIGHT
A clear passage through the building can be seen. In the air, high above the city streets, Chrestfelt holds Fred.
CHRESTFELT
Unlike your departed friends you had the decency to put
up a fight.
FRED PERRY
This is as far as this will go, the others have more
power than I.
CHRESTFELT
Well, that doesn't matter, no one has the strength to
stop me.
FRED PERRY
One has.
CHRESTFELT
(reflecting)
Luke Straw? I've eight to go until I reach him.
FRED PERRY
You won't make it.
CHRESTFELT
Has your power recharged?
FRED PERRY
Why?
CHRESTFELT
I only ask, because only one of us has the power to
maintain this height.
Chrestfelt looks into Fred's eyes and then lets go. Defiant to the last, Fred does not scream as he plummets the hundreds of feet to the ground. Chrestfelt watches, proud of his achievement.
EXT. BUSINESS DISTRICT -- NIGHT
The quiet street. At the front entrance to the Hall Building, one of the security guards is enjoying a cigarette outside. He looks up and down the street, a cars are passing by. Fred comes hurtling down and hits the pavement' two meters in front of the smoking security guard. Fred's body splatters everywhere, every bodily juice, blood, bile, and mucus sprays everywhere. The smoking security guard gets covered by the liquids. His mouth drops open in shock.
On the other side of the street Chrestfelt watches the aftermath, he smiles, and walks away.
EXT LUKE'S TRAINING AREA -- MORNING
Luke is walking along a group of derelict buildings, graffiti is sprayed everywhere. Tramps and drunks are grouped together, hookers are trying to sell themselves to passing cars. Luke tries to hide his face into the wall. Luke comes to a large one level factory, the door is marked with some magical symbol. Luke places his back to the large metal door, and looks up and down the street. Luke looks forward, and then takes a step back. Luke disappears through the door.
INT. LUKE'S TRAINING AREA -- MORNING
Inside the building. There are pillars leading up to the ceiling from the floor. Other than that there is nothing else. Luke walks to the centre of the floor, he looks up at the ceiling, there are many pieces missing, the sun beams in.
LUKE STRAW
(disappointed)
Time to get to work.
ALLISON FINNEGAN
But not alone.
ALLISON FINNEGAN, in her thirties, dressed in a white casual suit, stands behind Luke. Luke briefly seems happy to see Allison. Allison has a wry smile constantly on her face.
LUKE STRAW
You shouldn't be here, you should be hiding.
ALLISON FINNEGAN
I'm not big on the hiding.
LUKE STRAW
I can't say this isn't comforting.
ALLISON FINNEGAN
The elders told me to help you, well, asked me.
LUKE STRAW
And you couldn't say no?
ALLISON FINNEGAN
Yes.
Allison walks up closer to Luke.
LUKE STRAW
You are in as much danger as I am. He won't stop.
ALLISON FINNEGAN
He got Fred. Seems that Fred put up a fight though.
LUKE STRAW
(distraught)
Fred! I should have killed Chrestfelt, but I had to make
him pay.
ALLISON FINNEGAN
I was there, it was the right decision.
LUKE STRAW
My decision, and now all of us are paying for it.
ALLISON FINNEGAN
We all believed in that decision.
Luke looks up again at the roof.
LUKE STRAW
My magic is rusty, I need to practice.
Allison steps real close to Luke.
ALLISON FINNEGAN

Luke smiles. Allison and Luke back off, both are smiling. They back off facing each other, and take a ready stance.
LUKE STRAW
We may die, but this is going to be fun.
A red glowing ball appears in Luke's hand.
ALLISON FINNEGAN
You have no idea.
A golden ball of light appears in Allison's hand. Luke and Allison launch their glowing balls at each other, the balls meet in the middle of the two with an explosion.
INT. MEDIA ROOM -- NIGHT
The large Media Room has over 70 television screens all with different news channels on from around the world. There is a large computer server and several flat screen computer monitors around it. Everything is clean and all wires are hidden. In front of the screens there is a large swivel chair, which has hundreds of remote control buttons set into the arm rests, the chair is leather and padded. Sitting in the chair is CAMERON HOLDZ, she is in her mid thirties and dressed in a ultra clean white full length dress. Cameron is staring with a crazed look in her eye at the screens. On Three screens, directly in front of her, There is the images of the three victims of Chrestfelt so far. Cameron's eyes are then drawn from the three screens to another screen. On the screen there is a Large American-Asian woman Reporter, standing outside the Prison from Where Luke Straw escaped. Cameron presses one of the remote control buttons on the chair, a reflects move, and the sound on the fourth screen rises. The report is in progress.
WOMAN REPORTER
(dull tone)
The escape of Luke Straw is being dealt with seriously, a
task force has been assembled to find him.
Cameron has a weird smile on her face.
WOMAN REPORTER (CONT'D)
(dull tone)
Also a full enquiry is underway into how one man,
unarmed, could escape from this Maximum Security...
The Sound is lowered by Cameron.
CAMERON HOLDZ
(shivering voice)
I... must... prepare.
With another push of a button All the screens turn to a still picture of Chrestfelt.
INT. ASSEMBLY ROOM -- DAY
A room, white walls, a black board on the wall facing the widows with venitian blinds. Twelve chairs all face the black board, and one single chair facing the twelve. The door to the room opens and six tactical police officers (SWAT) enter the room and sit down. Each of the six are dressed in full body suits, are in their twenties, and all are fully armed. As the Six officers sit down, the door is just about to close when an older man in his forties, and wearing the same as the younger men, enters the room.
EXT. LARGE PRISON FACILITY -- DAY
A large press gathering at the main gates of the Prison. Reporters and Cameramen are all facing a podium which has at least 20 mic's on the top front. An Old Portly woman steps up to the podium, Her Name is WARDEN TRACY BELL. As Warden Bell steps to the podium the Cameramen all snap away, with a blaze of flashes.
WARDEN BELL
(strict)
I have a brief statement, after which I will take no
questions.
The Camera's all flash again, and all the Reporters get ready to write down the statement. Warden Bell takes a folded piece of paper from inside her jacket, and then clears her throat.
WARDEN BELL (CONT'D)
We can now confirm that there has been an escape from
this prison facility.
The Camera's all flash again.
WARDEN BELL (CONT'D)
There is a full security inquiry underway, so I can't
comment on that. Only one prisoner has escaped. This
prisoner, although kept in our highest security wing,
poses little threat to the general public. His name is
Luke Straw. Should anyone have any information on his
whereabouts or if you've been in contact with him, please
contact your local police office as soon as possible.
The Camera's all flash again.
WARDEN BELL (CONT'D)
I would like to take this oppurtunity to assure you that
this is an isolated incident and that all other prisoners
are safe and secure. Thank you.
The Camera's all flash, as Warden Bell turns and walks away, while the reporters all call out for a question. Warden Bell disappears into the gates of the prison.
INT. ASSEMBLY ROOM -- DAY
In the Assembly Room, THE LEADER of the task force is standing next to the blackboard, where a large photo of Luke Straw, his mug shots, is pinned. All the men are looking at the photo.
THE LEADER
(strong)
We are under orders to bring this man in alive, and I
reiterate that order now. Luke Straw turned himself in,
for the ritualistic murder of Stefan Myers. He is
considered now to be non violent.
A member of the SWAT Team puts his hand up. SWAT ONE is wearing blacked out sunglasses.
SWAT ONE
(disbelief)
Excuse me Sir? A ritualistic murderer who is non
violent?
THE LEADER
Before Straw turned himself in, the police had no leads,
and no hope of giving the family a rest from their pain.
He came in, confessed, DNA placed him at the murder
scene. Since conviction, Straw has been a model
prisoner.
SWAT ONE
He had no choice, maximum security doesn't give prisoners
much freedom.
THE LEADER
All the same, officer, we use non lethal ordinance, we
bring him in alive. One of you go against me, against
orders, and that man does not come home. Is that
understood?
All the men, apart from SWAT ONE, all shout, 'Yes Sir!'
THE LEADER (CONT'D)
No lethal measures will be allowed on the mission. Lets
mount up. Good hunting.
SWAT One remains sitting as the rest of the men follow The Leader out of the room. When he is alone, SWAT One takes out his sidearm and chambers a round.
SWAT ONE
(convincing)
Just in case.
SWAT One puts the sidearm back into it's holster and then follows after the rest of the team.
INT. CHRESTFELT'S HIDEOUT -- AFTERNOON
Chrestfelt is kneeling before the alter, as though in prayer.
EVIL BOOM
Why are you like that?
CHRESTFELT
It does not hurt to edge my bets. The last one was
harder than I thought would be.
EVIL BOOM
You need help?
CHRESTFELT
(angry)
This is my vengeance demon, they die by my hands.
EVIL BOOM
Remember that the deal requires your survival, should you
end back home, you will think your first visit with us
was a party.
CHRESTFELT
(calming)
I'm well aware of my duties. Was there something that
you wanted?
EVIL BOOM
Yes. Your greatest foe is gaining power, we can feel it.
CHRESTFELT
Straw?
EVIL BOOM
He is aligning the remains of the circle against you. I
say again, do you need help?
Chrestfelt stands and smiles.
CHRESTFELT
I think you overestimate their power. Thank you for the
offer. I have to go to work.
Chrestfelt turns from the alter and walks down the aisle to the exit. When Chrestfelt leaves, the alter starts to burn in flames. The flames move in from the extremity of the alter to the centre point. Left in the centre is the physical form of EVIL BOOM. Evil Boom is made from flesh and bone. His limbs and eyes are a mixture of stone and piercing flame. He is not tall, not well built, but more wiry and skinny. There is little confidence in his face, although his eyes show power. Evil boom has no hair, genitals, but is male in appearance.
EXT. LARGE PRISON FACILITY -- AFTERNOON
The large front gates of the prison open and the roaring sound of motorbike engines start. Six black sporting bikes speed out of the gates in single file, the sand clouds up off the ground from the speed. The last vehicle through the gates is a large 4X4 cruiser, which is driven by The Leader. All the Vehicles drive along the sand road.
INT. LUKE'S TRAINING AREA -- EVENING
The training area is blasted, scorch marks are all over the walls, ceiling, and floors. In the middle of the floor, sitting down with their back to one another, Luke and Allison are trying to get their breath back.
ALLISON FINNEGAN
I forgot how hard it was.
LUKE STRAW
I'm out of shape.
ALLISON FINNEGAN
We both are.
LUKE STRAW
He's probably going to go after another soon.
ALLISON FINNEGAN
I tried calling Jacinta, but her agent told me that he
would call, still nothing. Luke? Can I ask you
something?
LUKE STRAW
Anything.
ALLISON FINNEGAN
(cautious)
What happened that night? The details are sketchy.
Luke stands up and walks away from Allison. Allison follows and when behind Luke she places her hand on his shoulder, Luke seems in a mix of emotions.
ALLISON FINNEGAN (CONT'D)
Forget that I asked.
LUKE STRAW
No. You have a right to know. It started on just
another normal night.
INT. LUKE STRAWS HOUSE BEDROOM -- NIGHT
MANY YEARS AGO...
A teenage Luke is laying on his bed, listening to music on headphones from a beaten up stereo. Luke is lost in the music, his eyes are closed.
EXT. LUKE STRAWS HOUSE -- NIGHT
The shadowed figure of Chrestfelt is lurking around the garden outside Luke's house, the area around his eyes is clear, as though the light is only finding that part of his face. A young man, teenager, called SIMON FELLOWES, comes riding up to the house on a mountain bike. Simon is worried and nervous as he rides the bike up the garden path to near the door. Simon quickly gets off the bike and rushes to the front door. The bike falls flat on the garden grass.
INT. LUKE STRAWS HOUSE HALLWAY -- NIGHT
Simon walks nervously along the hallway leading to Luke's bedroom. The hallway is littered with family photos. Simon stops outside Luke's room, and knocks on the door, but does not wait for an answer to enter.
EXT. LUKE STRAWS HOUSE BEDROOM -- NIGHT
Simon stands with his back to the door. Luke opens his eyes and sees that Simon is really nervous and worried. Luke takes off the headphones and with a wave of his hand the stereo clicks off.
LUKE STRAW
(concern)
Simon? What is it?
SIMON FELLOWES
(jittery)
It's Chrestfelt.
LUKE STRAW
Hugo? What has he done now?
SIMON FELLOWES
He's seeking more power. The control of all powers.
LUKE STRAW
(angry)
If the Elders find out we'll all be dismissed.
SIMON FELLOWES
I know, that's why I came to you. I don't want the
training to end.
LUKE STRAW
You were right. How did you find out all this?
SIMON FELLOWES
Hugo came to me, he wants my help.
LUKE STRAW
When is he planning this?
SIMON FELLOWES
Tonight. I've to meet him in little over an hour.
Luke stands up and paces for a moment, deep in thought.
LUKE STRAW
Meet him. I'll gather the rest of our circle. Together
we'll stop him.
SIMON FELLOWES
What about Allison? She's away, isn't she?
LUKE STRAW
She's in Prague, with her parents. There should be
enough of us left though to take care of this.
SIMON FELLOWES
And the Elders?
LUKE STRAW
We cannot involve them. We have to control the situation
ourselves.
SIMON FELLOWES
I don't know if I can hold Chrestfelt off from progress.
LUKE STRAW
(reassuring)
You'll do fine. We'll be a few minutes behind you.
Simon seems only to have taken a little from Luke's reassurance.
LUKE STRAW (CONT'D)
You should go. Calm yourself, it will be okay. I'll get
the circle.
Luke reaches for his phone and starts to dial. Without a word Simon turns and leaves.
LUKE STRAW (CONT'D)
(on phone)
It's me.
(beat)
Hugo is up to something.
(beat)
The circle must gather.
EXT. LUKE STRAWS HOUSE -- NIGHT
As Simon leaves Luke's house he is little to no calmer than before. Simon picks up his bike, when he has the bike up, Chrestfelt is standing beside him. Simon tries hard to hide his discomfort at being around Chrestfelt. Chrestfelt seems confident and almost happy.
SIMON FELLOWES
(uncomfortable)
Hugo? I thought I was calling around to your house?
CHRESTFELT
It's such a nice evening. I thought that we'd walk to
the church together.
Simon is failing to hide his fear.
SIMON FELLOWES
(unconvincing)
I wanted to change first. Kinda big night.
CHRESTFELT
(smiling)
Ah, no need for that. Sure, you don't want to be wearing
anything too good, that ruin of a church would just dirty
them.
Simon lets out a resigned sigh. Chrestfelt and Simon walk down the street away from Luke's house. Simon, pushing his bike as he walks, is walking with sadness. But Chrestfelt is walking with his head held high.
INT. CHRESTFELT'S HIDEOUT -- NIGHT
The church isn't as filthy as it is will be. The church is dark. Simon coughs through the dark dust. Chrestfelt though, seems at ease in the church.
SIMON FELLOWES
I forgot how dingy this place is.
CHRESTFELT
Yes. It is great isn't it?
Chrestfelt lets Simon lead the way. Simon is very curious about the surroundings. Chrestfelt only seems interested in Simon.
SIMON FELLOWES
We should have brought candles. Why don't we go get some
and come back?
Chrestfelt has moved away from Simon and is now looking out one of the broken windows, looking at the sky.
CHRESTFELT
Imagine the world, with just one to control it. I'll be
the first benevolent dictator.
Simon gives Chrestfelt a worried look.
SIMON FELLOWES
Right! What about going to get some candles?
Chrestfelt does not look to Simon.
CHRESTFELT
I thought ahead Simon.
Chrestfelt clicks his fingers and the church lights up with many candles, not thousands, but enough. Near the alter there is an oval shaped configuration of candles. Inside the oval there are bottles of spring water, with the labels torn off. The bottles are half full, with the lids still on. In the exact centre of the configuration, there is a large, thick, and wide wooden board. Rising up from the floor to about six feet high. Simon walks up to the oval slowly, curious, and unsure. Simon walks around the oval of candles.
SIMON FELLOWES
(nervous)
You sure seem prepared for this!
Simon looks around the oval, the bottles of water and the large wooden board.
SIMON FELLOWES (CONT'D)
(nervous)
What does this ceremony entail exactly?
Chrestfelt walks up to the oval, there is just the slightest smile on his face.
CHRESTFELT
It's as simple as pure and corrupt mixing.
SIMON FELLOWES
Pure? That explains the water. Where is the...
Chrestfelt moves with great speed, and before Simon knows what is going on, Chrestfelt is standing beside him. Chrestfelt punches Simon down to the ground. While Simon is on the ground Chrestfelt kicks him in different parts of his body. Chrestfelt is enjoying himself.
CHRESTFELT
The best laid plans of mice and rats.
Simon is in pain, as Chrestfelt continues to kick on him.
CHRESTFELT (CONT'D)
While Luke gathers the circle, you are going to do what
you came here to do.
Chrestfelt motions with his hand and Simon lifts off the ground and then hangs upside down with his back to the board. Simon starts to spit up blood. Chrestfelt walks over to one of the pews and picks up a dusty canvas bag.
SIMON FELLOWES
(choking)
You'll never be able to hold me here while you perform
the ceremony.
CHRESTFELT
(smiling)
You know something?
Chrestfelt takes out a battery powered nail gun from the dusty canvas bag. Chrestfelt's smile becomes wider, and there is a madness in his eyes.
CHRESTFELT (CONT'D)
I thought of that.
Chrestfelt presses the trigger and three long nails shoot out, and go into Simon's right arm, then three into his left arm, and three each into both his legs. Simon screams in pain. Chrestfelt puts down the nail gun and walks up to Simon.
CHRESTFELT (CONT'D)
Pace yourself Simon.
Chrestfelt takes a long sharp knife from his belt.
CHRESTFELT (CONT'D)
It's going to be a long night.
Chrestfelt places the knife near to Simon's wrists.
EXT. CHRESTFELT'S HIDEOUT -- NIGHT
Luke is the only one of the eleven present who you can make out. The others are shadowed.
LUKE STRAW
Priority one is to get Simon out of here. I will deal
with Hugo.
Luke moves and opens the door of the church.
INT. CHRESTFELT'S HIDEOUT -- NIGHT
As Luke opens the door, the shadowed ten are behind him. Luke's face fills with terror.
LUKE STRAW
(screaming)
No!
At the alter Chrestfelt is sitting down on the floor next to the board. There are empty water bottles all around Chrestfelt. Simon has had his hands cut off at the wrists, and is very pale, in fact dead. The blood falling from the wounds at the wrists is falling into two separate bottles. There are a number of empty bottles around Chrestfelt. Luke is running up the aisle towards the alter. Chrestfelt slowly gets to his feet.
LUKE STRAW (CONT'D)
(angry)
You sick bastard!
CHRESTFELT
(calm)
One of the circle had to die. Rather him than you, huh?
Luke motions with his hand, and the knife that is laying by the board and Simon's severed hands, is stained with blood, comes into Luke's hand. Quickly Luke moves, and before Chrestfelt can get out of the way, Luke slashes down and cuts down Chrestfelt's right eye. The cut leaves a deep gash. Chrestfelt gets very angry and feels the wound. Chrestfelt screams in anger and launches a blue bolt of energy from his hands against Luke. This sends Luke flying through the air towards the back of the church. The ten are gathered there. When Luke lands he is in shock.
LUKE STRAW
(worried)
I think we're too late.
Luke shakes off his surprise at Chrestfelt's new powers, his anger returns and he gets to his feet. At the alter Chrestfelt has taken up the two bottles of water/blood.
LUKE STRAW (CONT'D)
(strong)
We've got to stop him.
(beat)
In betrayal you will burn. In betrayal you will burn.
One by one, each of the ten take up the chant. 'In betrayal you will burn.' At the alter, Chrestfelt is nearly all done drinking the last two bottles. Chrestfelt starts to catch on fire, feet first. It does not take long for Chrestfelt to feel the burn, he drops the bottles before finishing them. Chrestfelt screams in agony as the flames engulf him. Luke and the rest of the ten continue the chant as Chrestfelt burns. As he burns Chrestfelt steps slowly towards Luke and the ten. The chant stops.
CHRESTFELT
(agony of evil)
As long as you draw breath, you will live in fear of my
return.
The fire that engulfs Chrestfelt burns itself out and leaves no remains.
LUKE STRAW
(composed)
The police will be here soon, and we can do no more. We
should go.
When Luke turns around he is alone. Luke turns back and takes another look to where Simon is hanging, then turns back to the doors and leaves. Luke is full of guilt.
INT. LUKE'S TRAINING AREA -- DAY
Allison and Luke are facing toward each other, but Luke is avoiding eye contact.
LUKE STRAW
The Elders would only teach us separately from then on.
ALLISON FINNEGAN
But why turn yourself in? You didn't kill Simon.
LUKE STRAW
Not directly. I turned myself in because someone needed
to pay.
Allison is now distracted. Allison is looking around the training area.
EXT. CITY STREETS -- AFTERNOON
Through the streets heading towards Luke's training place, the Task Force vehicles drive very fast.
INT. LUKE'S TRAINING AREA -- AFTERNOON
Luke and Allison are hovering ten feet off the ground, facing each other. They are both in a meditative state. A ring of fire starts to form around Allison, and it circles her, the flame spins faster and faster. Allison opens her eyes as the circling flames are at a quick speed. Luke opens his eyes. From the ring of fire that circles Allison, a bolt of fire shoots out towards Luke. Luke raises his hand and easily deflects the fire bolt. Allison smiles.
ALLISON FINNEGAN
Can I stop taking it easy on you now?
LUKE STRAW
Bring it on.
From the ring of fire, several fire bolts fire out toward Luke. Once again Luke deflects the fire bolts with ease. Both Luke and Allison are now drained of energy and slowly lower to the ground. There is bottled water on the ground. Allison takes a sip from a bottle. Luke however, is distracted, and is looking at the damaged roof. It takes a moment but Allison grows more and more concerned at Luke's worry.
ALLISON FINNEGAN
You look like the end of the world is just about to hit
us.
LUKE STRAW
(concerned)
No. It's nothing that gentle.
The sound of motorbikes, many of them can be heard. They become stronger, more persistant. Both Allison and Luke are worried more now, they look around as the noise from the engines continue.
EXT. LUKE'S TRAINING AREA -- AFTERNOON
The motorbikes from the Task Force screech to a stop outside the training area. The Team Leader's 4X4 range rover is the last to pull up. By the time the Team Leader is out of the 4X4, the team members are off their motorbikes and have their non lethal armaments ready. The many lowlifes on the street start to gather together, in the mix of the scum, Chrestfelt stands watching the Task Force. Chrestfelt smiles.
The Team Leader takes out his Stun dart Gun, and checks the battery. The battery beeps and the two green lights on the handle come on. Team Leader holsters his weapon, then along with the rest of the Task Force, Team Leader places on protective gloves, and goggles. The Task Force team members move in closer to the door.
EXT. LUKE'S TRAINING AREA ROOF -- AFTERNOON
Allison and Luke are hiding on the damaged rooftop, peering over at the scene down below.
LUKE STRAW
They are here to bring me back in.
ALLISON FINNEGAN
(sarcastic)
You think?
Luke smiles and shakes his head. Luke looks to Allison, but Allison now has a look of sheer terror on her face as she looks down to the crowd across the street.
LUKE STRAW
What is it?
ALLISON FINNEGAN
(scared)
He's not aged!
Luke's face fills with dread as he peers over the dge to see Chrestfelt looking up at him.
EXT. LUKE'S TRAINING AREA -- AFTERNOON
Across the street, Chrestfelt is looking up at Luke and Allison. Chrestfelt smiles, then salutes up to Luke and Allison. Outside the door to the training area, the Task Force members are gathered around the Team Leader.
TEAM LEADER
(calm controlled)
Our information tells us that our man is inside. Two
wait here, city cops will try assume control, if they
arrive. I want to be moving out before that happens.
Each member of the team nods in agreement.
TEAM LEADER (CONT'D)
(calm controled)
He should come quietly. Lets get to work.
Two of the Task Force Members stand on either side of the door, the rest of the Task Force take up positions beside the Team Leader. Across the road, Chrestfelt is frowning and shaking his head.
CHRESTFELT
Non lethal! Now where's the fun in that?
Some of the crowd around Chrestfelt give him a curious look. One member of the Task Force is getting ready to kick in the door, as he steps up, across the street, Chrestfelt motions his hands forward at the same time that the Task Force Member kicks at the door. The whole building topples over. The Task Force Member who kicked at the door is very confused, and looks down to his boot. The Task Force members, and the Team Leader all raise their stun guns, and wait for the dust to settle. The crowd across the street are all looking at the area where the roof was. Luke and Allison are hovering there, both are covered with dust.
ALLISON FINNEGAN
Well, the whole low profile part is gone out of the
window.
LUKE STRAW
You take care of the authorities. I'll go have a chat
with our old friend.
ALLISON FINNEGAN
(smiling)
You boys play nice now.
The crowd around Chrestfelt has now dispersed, but Chrestfelt remains in the same place. Luke is hovering over to Chrestfelt, and descending as he does so. The Task Force are all surprised at this, apart from the Team Leader. The Team Leader is the first to make a move towards Chrestfelt and Luke, the Task Force Members are unsure to follow. Allison lowers herself down between the Team Leader and Luke and Chrestfelt. Allison Smiles.
ALLISON FINNEGAN (CONT'D)
Lads? Take a nap.
Each member of the Task Force drops to the ground unconscious, the Team Leader is the last to fall.
Luke is now standing face to face with Chrestfelt. Luke is serious, prepared. Chrestfelt has his evil smile, and is enjoying the moment.
CHRESTFELT
(civil)
Congratulations on your release.
LUKE STRAW
I'd say thank you.
(beat)
But you're an asshole.
CHRESTFELT
(cocky)
Asshole, future God, such a thin line.
LUKE STRAW
(disbelief)
Still having the delusions of grandeur.
CHRESTFELT
Still with the hero complex.
LUKE STRAW
This time you'll not be able to come back.
Chrestfelt bursts into a loud laughter.
LUKE STRAW (CONT'D)
(annoyed)
You want to share the joke?
CHRESTFELT
Your arrogance. I've spent every moment practicing,
increasing my powers. You think one afternoon brings you
up to speed.
LUKE STRAW
Well, why don't we see?
Chrestfelt raises his hand up, as his hand rises a blue force field covers Luke. Luke struggles against the bonds, but it is futile.
CHRESTFELT
I've a few more of our old friends to catch up on. Get
strong Luke. I want you at your best.
Chrestfelt walks around Luke and towards Allison. Near Allison, Chrestfelt stops.
CHRESTFELT (CONT'D)
Allie? I have no issue, or will to kill you.
ALLISON FINNEGAN
But you are going to kill my friends?
CHRESTFELT
I will. Just know that when I kill you, it's nothing
personal.
Chrestfelt raises slowly into the air, and then with speed is gone.
ALLISON FINNEGAN
Well that makes me feel better.
Allison walks over to Luke and with a wave of her hand, she clears the blue force field around Luke. Luke breaths in and feels his chest.
ALLISON FINNEGAN (CONT'D)
Well? Did it work?
LUKE STRAW
His magic may be stronger, but his mind hasn't gained any
defense.
ALLISON FINNEGAN
You got the location?
LUKE STRAW
Las Vegas.
ALLISON FINNEGAN
Jacinta? We better get moving.
Luke and Allison move quickly, and are soon gone from the area.
INT. MEDIA ROOM -- AFTERNOON
At the large, dark, media room, all the screens are white. In front of the screens Cameron Holdz sits, her eyes are closed in meditation. Soon her eyes fly open and they are pure white.
CAMERON HOLDZ
Follow him...
(beat)
... follow him.
Cameron closes her eyes.
EXT. LUKE'S TRAINING AREA -- AFTERNOON
The Task Force Members are still unconscious. The Team Leader is shaking, as though having some sort of fit.
TEAM LEADER
(painfully)
Please stop. I will do as you please. Please stop.
The Team Leader slowly comes around. The rest of the Task Force Members come around.
TEAM LEADER (CONT'D)
Get off your asses, we're going to the strip.
The Team leader gets into his 4X4.
EXT. WOOD CLEARING -- NIGHT
The two Elders are sitting by their fire.
OLD MAN ONE
The boom has taken form.
OLD MAN TWO
He will try to help Chrestfelt.
OLD MAN ONE
Luke and Allison will be in need of help.
OLD MAN TWO
We did not want to interfere.
OLD MAN ONE
We no longer have a choice.
The flames from the fire die, as they die, a thick dark smoke fills the clearing. When the smoke clears the elders are gone.
EXT. LAS VEGAS STRIP -- NIGHT
The Las Vegas Strip. All the neon lights of the city shine in its desert base. But no light shines as bright as 'THE SHAMROCK' hotel and casino. A large neon leprechaun tips it's hat at the top of the building. At the front entrance to the casino there is a large billboard, which has a large poster of JACINTA CAULFIELD, a raven haired 30 something, wearing a trendy magicians outfit. The poster reads 'Jacinta Caulfield Worlds greatest Magician, one week only.' Along the bottom of the poster there is a red banner with white writing along it saying 'sold out' in large capital letters.
EXT. ROOF OF THE SHAMROCK -- NIGHT
At the roof of the Casino behind the top of the neon leprechaun, Chrestfelt stands looking over the strip. Chrestfelt's feet are on the edge. Smiling Chrestfelt turns and walks towards the rooftop access door.
EXT. DESERT ROAD -- NIGHT
The road leading to Las Vegas. A beaten up van drives quickly towards the lights of the city.
INT. BEATEN UP VAN -- NIGHT
Luke and Allison are sitting side by side, with Luke driving. Both Luke and Allison seem preoccupied.
INT. THE SHOW HALL -- NIGHT
The packed show hall seats a couple of thousand people. There is a large stage that has green velvet curtains at the front of it. Suddenly the lights go down, there is a hush falling over the hall, the audience is in anticipation. The curtains part and Jacinta is standing alone in centre stage. The audience bursts into a grand applause. Jacinta smiles and walks to the edge of the stage. The smile on Jacinta's face turns into a devilish smile.
JACINTA CAULFIELD
You don't know what you are in for.
From the back of the show hall Chrestfelt slowly walks down the aisle towards the stage.
CHRESTFELT
(to himself)
Neither do you!
Back at the stage.
JACINTA CAULFIELD
For my first trick, I will need one member of the
audience.
Every member of the audience want to be picked for the trick, they are so excited. But Chrestfelt has already gotten up on the stage, he is standing about 20 feet from Jacinta.
CHRESTFELT
(menacing)
Will I do?
Unknowingly Jacinta turns around and instantly recognises Chrestfelt. Jacinta is filled with fear, but she keeps on smiling for the crowd. Chrestfelt walks up close to Jacinta.
CHRESTFELT (CONT'D)
So what trick did you have in mind?
JACINTA CAULFIELD
(nervous)
I... well... The Trick?
CHRESTFELT
(smiling)
Well seeing as you are a little muddled, why don't I
suggest something?
Chrestfelt backs up from Jacinta, and as he does a ball of blue energy forms in between his hands. Jacinta backs up, keeping an eye on Chrestfelt and a nervous smile on her face for the crowd. The Audience are in awe at what is happening on stage. Chrestfelt launches the energy ball at Jacinta. Jacinta manages to deflect the ball too the ceiling. But the power of deflecting the ball knocks Jacinta off her feet. Chrestfelt starts to walk towards Jacinta. And as he walks he is forming another blue energy ball. Jacinta scrambles back to her feet. Before Chrestfelt can launch the energy ball, Jacinta launches several energy spikes at him. The energy spikes hit Crestfelt. One of the energy spikes hits the energy ball, in Chrestfelts hands, the ball explodes, and the force knocks Chrestfelt off the stage, sending him flying into the audience. The audience are shocked, but impressed. Chrestfelt is scorched now, he rises back to his feet, more angry than ever. A fewof the audience near Chrestfelt start to realise that something is wrong, and back away. The edge of Chrestfelt goes on fire, but he doesn't burn. More and more of the audience start to realise that something is wrong and make their way out of the show hall. Jacinta spots the sprinkler system on the ceiling, she launches another barrage of energy spikes at the sprinklers. One of the spikes hits and sets off the waters. The water falls down, but does not effect the flames that cover Chrestfelt. Chrestfelt laughs like a maniac. Chrestfelt points two fingers at Jacinta and two twin flames shoot out and hit Jacinta in both eyes. Jacinta screams in agony and falls to her knees, gently feeling around the scorched eyes, which are closed.
CHRESTFELT (CONT'D)
Lets see how you aim now!
The flames that cover Chrestfelt die out and he moves towards the stage. By now there are no audience members left. Three armed security guards come running around from behind the stage with their guns out and pointed at Chrestfelt. Chrestfelt is now on the stage, and stops his advance on Jacinta. Chrestfelt turns to look at the guards.
CHRESTFELT (CONT'D)
(to guards)
You are the threat.
The three guards all point their guns at one another and fire. The bullets hit the guards in the head and they all fall to the floor dead. When Chrestfelt turns around, Luke and Allison are standing there between Chrestfelt and Jacinta.
CHRESTFELT (CONT'D)
I'm starting to lose my sense of humour about this.
ALLISON FINNEGAN
One on one you might have a chance, not two on one.
CHRESTFELT
You may be right Ally, two on one, lets give it a go.
EVIL BOOM (O.S.)
(surrounding)
No! Lets keep it fair.
Evil Boom steps onto the stage. Luke and Allison look nervous. Evil Boom steps close to Chrestfelt, but remains slightly behind him. Chrestfelt does not look happy to see Evil Boom.
CHRESTFELT
Why are you here? I can handle this.
EVIL BOOM
Others are not too sure about that.
CHRESTFELT
What others?
EVIL BOOM
Others who can end this course of vengeance.
Evil Boom looks over at Jacinta, then to Luke and Allison.
EVIL BOOM (CONT'D)
I'll handle the standing. You finish off the girl.
CHRESTFELT
(unhappy)
Fine! But try not to kill Straw. That's a pleasure I want
to myself.
Evil Boom and Chrestfelt start to advance on Luke, Allison, and Jacinta.
LUKE STRAW
We need to get out of here!
ALLISON FINNEGAN
To the roof.
Luke picks up Jacinta, who has passed out and carries her off. Allison raises her hands and a sheet of energy rises off the stage floor to the ceiling. Allison then turns on her heels and runs after Luke. Evil Boom looks to Chrestfelt and smiles.
EVIL BOOM
Human stupidity never ceases to amaze me.
A thick smoke starts to form around Chrestfelt and Evil Boom. The smoke grows until it completely covers them. When the smoke clears Evil Boom and Chrestfelt are gone.
EXT. ROOF OF THE SHAMROCK -- NIGHT
Luke is still carrying Jacinta towards the edge of the building. Jacinta is still unconscious. Luke stops at the edge, then looks around, Luke is confused. Allison comes running up behind Luke.
LUKE STRAW
Why didn't we just go out the front door?
ALLISON FINNEGAN
You know? It never occured to me.
A large helicopter comes flying in. The task force team leader can be seen next to the pilot. A strong light is then placed from the helicopter to shine on Luke, Allison, and Jacinta.
INT. THE HELICOPTER -- NIGHT
The Team Leader looks down at Luke. The Team Leader is wearing a headset with a microphone.
THE LEADER
(into mic)
Okay boys, our target in on the roof. Slide ropes out.
Go!
EXT. THE HELICOPTER -- NIGHT
The slide doors of the Helicopter opens and six ropes are thrown out. The task force team members, dressed in full tactical outfits get ready to descend.
EXT. ROOF OF THE SHAMROCK -- NIGHT
Luke turns to Allison.
LUKE STRAW
Allison? Next time we use the front entrance.
ALLISON FINNEGAN
Everyone's a critic.
The six task force members all descend their ropes and reach the rooftop. Allison gets a big grin on her face. The task force members all take out their stun guns.
ALLISON FINNEGAN (CONT'D)
Luke? Time to take the plunge.
LUKE STRAW
I take it you aren't talking about the Vegas kind?
ALLISON FINNEGAN
(smiling)
Maybe some other time.
Luke, still carrying Jacinta, and allison step off the building and fall down towards the ground. The task force members all rush towards the edge of the building and peer over to watch Luke, allison, and Jacinta fall.
INT. THE HELICOPTER -- NIGHT
The Team Leader is watching from the helicopter.
THE LEADER
(over mic)
What are you waiting for, use the fucking stairs and
follow them.
From the point of view from the helicopter the Team Leader sees the six task force team members move quickly towards the roof access door.
THE LEADER (CONT'D)
(to pilot)
Take me down.
The pilot moves the stick and the helicopter moves to the side and then down.
EXT. THE SHAMROCK -- NIGHT
The front entrance of the Shamrock is lit up with thousands of green and white light bulbs. People are coming and going from the casino. In the courtyard, from nothing comes a thick black smoke. People move quickly out of the way as the smoke grows thicker, blacker. The smoke evaporates to leave Evil Boom and Chrestfelt standing there. Some people run, terrified. Evil Boom looks up to see Luke, Allison, and Jacinta falling. Just as Luke, Allison, and Jacinta are about to hit the ground, a force of green light comes from the ground and slows their descent, until they reach the ground, feet first. Luke hands Jacinta to Allison.
LUKE STRAW
Take her to the van. I'll hold them off.
ALLISON FINNEGAN
You sure you can take them?
LUKE STRAW
I don't have to stop them, just hold them off till you
get the van.
Evil boom looks at Chrestfelt. As Allison, carrying Jacinta moves off.
EVIL BOOM
Burn them! I'll take Straw.
Chrestfelt lights his body on fire and moves off in chase of Allison and Jacinta. Luke launches an energy ball at the fast moving Chrestfelt, but Chrestfelt is too fast and the energy ball misses. In this distraction Evil Boom moves close to Luke. Evil Boom grabs one of Luke's wrists and rips off Luke's hand at the wrist joint. Luke screams in agony as Evil Boom laughs malicisouly. Out of pain and anger Luke uses his only hand left to punch Evil Boom hard in the face. Evil Boom is knocked off his feet. Luke takes off his shirt and wraps it around where his hand used to be, the wound is bloody. Luke runs after Chrestfelt. Evil Boom goes to get up but a thick white smoke forms around him. Evil Boom is very angry. Evil Boom tries to pass through the smoke but is blocked. Outside the smoke the two elders sit.
EVIL BOOM (CONT'D)
(angry plead)
I warn you, let me out.
OLD MAN ONE
It cries for freedom.
EVIL BOOM
(angry plead)
Let me out. Let me out.
OLD MAN TWO
We should give him freedom.
EVIL BOOM
(angry plead)
Let me out. Let me out.
The smoke closes in around Evil Boom. When the smoke clears Evil Boom, and the elders are gone.
EXT. THE OCEAN -- NIGHT
The calm ocean. A thick smoke appears high about the waves. Evil Boom falls from the smoke into the ocean and the smoke evaporates. Evil Boom comes back to the surface, his burning body parts stay alive and cause the water to boil around him.
EXT. ALLEYWAY BEHIND THE SHAMROCK -- NIGHT
The battered van is parked behind the Shamrock, were all the garbage bins are. Allison is gently placing Jacinta into the back of the van. When Jacinta is laying in the back, Allison closes the doors. Chrestfelt is standing behind Allison. Still on fire.
CHRESTFELT
One last chance Ally, walk away.
ALLISON FINNEGAN
No!
CHRESTFELT
This is not your fight, now walk away
ALLISON FINNEGAN
(defiant)
You kill my friends, and not my fight? Fuck you.
Chrestfelt smiles and the flames grow bigger around him. They grow so large that they reach to Allison and the heat singes her hair and clothes. Behind Chrestfelt, Luke stands. Chrestfelt turns and lets the flames die down, but not out. Chrestfelt looks at the wound that Luke endured.
CHRESTFELT
Someone didn't play nice with Boom did they?
LUKE STRAW
Yeah, well someone shouldn't have given a lady a chance
to get behind the wheel.
Chrestfelt realizes his mistake and the Van with Allison behind the wheel, reverses back and runs over Chrestfelt, Luke steps to the side. Chrestfelt is knocked under the wheels of the van. Chrestfelt is knocked out, laying on the ground, in front of the van now. Luke gets into the drivers side of the van, Allison gets into the back.
INT. BEATEN UP VAN -- NIGHT
Luke uses his good hand on the wheel to steer, and uses his telepathic skills to shift gear.
EXT. ALLEYWAY BEHIND THE SHAMROCK -- NIGHT
Chrestfelt struggles to his feet, when the van runs him over again and speeds off into the night. Chrestfelt lays beaten and bloody on the ground.
INT. MEDIA ROOM -- NIGHT
Cameron is sitting watching all of the monitors. Her eyes dart from one screen to another. A door opens behind her, white light and the siloette of a man can be seen. The ID of the man is unknown. Cameron turns in the chair, around to face the man. The man is the Task force team leader. But still we cannot see who it is.
CAMERON HOLDZ
You allowed Straw to escape.
THE LEADER
I beg your forgiveness.
CAMERON HOLDZ
Only be holding Straw will Chrestfelt come to me.
THE LEADER
I know my Lady. I will not fail you again.
The Leader steps forward and his identity can now be seen. The Leader walks close to Cameron's chair, he then kneels down.
THE LEADER (CONT'D)
On my life, and my eternal soul, I will not fail you
again.
Cameron swivels the chair around, now The Leader is kneeling facing the back of the chair.
CAMERON HOLDZ
Chrestfelt's debt must be repaid to me. His stay in hell
was no penance for killing my son, your brother.
THE LEADER
Yes mother.
The Leader rises to his feet.
CAMERON HOLDZ
Go now. Find Straw. Bring him here to me.
The Leader turns around and leaves Cameron alone in the room.
EXT. DESERT ROAD -- NIGHT
The battered van is moving fast along the dark desert highway. The exhaust fumes are heavy from the back of the van.
INT. BEATEN UP VAN -- NIGHT
At the wheel of the van Luke is driving, with his remaining hand. His other hand is gone, but the wound is dressed and placed on his lap. Luke is tired. In the back of the van, a scorched Allison, her hair singed, tends to Jacinta. Jacinta's eyes have been burnt closed, the eyelids are fused shut. Allison places bandages over Jacinta's eyes. Jacinta seems to be passed out.
LUKE STRAW
(concerned)
How is she?
ALLISON FINNEGAN
She'll need pain killers, the spell for the pain won't
hold for long.
LUKE STRAW
We'll have to boost it from a hospital, or a Vets.
ALLISON FINNEGAN
What was that thing that helped him?
Luke looks down to where his hand used to be, at the bloody bandage.
LUKE STRAW
I don't know, but the Elders are going to have to give me
some answers.
Jacinta stirs violently.
JACINTA CAULFIELD
(screaming)
The Elders! No!
Jacinta falls back unconscious. Allison gives Luke a scared and worried look. Luke puts his foot down on the accelerator.
EXT. THE WOODS AROUND CLEARING -- NIGHT
Through the dark woods Evil Boom walks. His stone and fire body standing out against the trees.
EVIL BOOM
Whose woods these are I think I know...
Evil Boom gets to the edge of the clearance, and he can see the two elders sitting by the large fire. Evil Boom rubs his stony hands together slowly. A fine dust forms around his hands, the dust becomes dense, and grows.
EXT. WOOD CLEARING -- NIGHT
The two Elders are sitting around by the fire.
OLD MAN ONE
Boom is near.
OLD MAN TWO
His plan is our end.
OLD MAN ONE
Only in the physical plain.
OLD MAN TWO
Long enough have we lived.
OLD MAN ONE
We move simply to another plain.
OLD MAN TWO
His downfall this may be.
EXT. THE WOODS AROUND CLEARING -- NIGHT
Evil boom raises the thick stony dust to his mouth and blows it. The dust flows from his hands towards the elders.
EXT. WOOD CLEARING -- NIGHT
The fine dust flows from the woods through the air towards the elders. The dust travels through the first elder, through the fire, and then through the second elder. When it has passed through them the dust falls down to the ground. The two elders and the fire are now set into stone. From the woods Evil Boom walks to the elders. Evil Boom reaches the first elder and taps his stone hand on the now stone head of the First elder. Evil boom smiles and walks away.
EVIL BOOM
Miles to go before I sleep. Miles to go before I sleep.
INT. PRIVATE HOSPITAL ROOM -- NIGHT
The room is full of medical machines, measuring the patient's vitals, breathing for him. On the bed lays Steven Bennett, 30's, who is dying of cancer, he is wasting away. Steven is wearing an oxygen mask. Steven is looking scared at something at the end of his bed. At the end of his bed there is a chair, and sitting on that chair is Chrestfelt, who is still beaten up, but on the mend. Chrestfelt stares happily at Steven.
CHRESTFELT
I've killed some of our old friends Steve. But with you,
my pleasure, is in doing nothing.
Chrestfelt puts his feet up on the bed.
CHRESTFELT (CONT'D)
With you, all I need is patience. Nature and Cancer are
my allies.
Steven starts to breathe deeper. Chrestfelt starts to feel the wounds on his body.
