Description:
This doll started life as a Palm Beach Lea and I did a body switch so I wouldnt have to deal with the painted on swim suit. She has a complete facial repaint and now has brownish-gold eyes and ruby lips to match her outfit. As indicated in the contest rules the outfit is made from red velvet panne, sequins, seedbeads and matching color sequined trim. Her outfit could best be described as a show girl style or maybe an extreme Oscar ceremony outfit! Her top is an over the shoulder halter style decorated with sequins and beads and features separate poufed sleeves. The skirt is a two piece style joined by beaded strands over the hip area, creating a very open and sexy look on the sides with full leg exposure. The front skirt panel is decorated in red sequin trim, a sequin pattern going up the front accented with seed beads. The back skirt panel is very long and full with seed beads and sequins. Strappy gold high heels complete her look.
About The Artist:
I started doing customizing about 9 months ago and was hooked from the begining. I bought all Jim Faraone's books and joined several doll lists and basically learned as I went. I didn't know how to sew when I started this endevour but I taught myself and now can even use patterns...LOL. I love repainting and while I mostly do the Barbie size dolls, I am taking repaint lessons to learn how to work with Gene and other larger dolls. I love costume design too and the only thing I do not do unless there is no alternative is to reroot.
