Ellaacappella@aol.com 4th & 5th Graders/Art I was born and raised in Mobile,
Alabama. I have taught in Mobile as well as Atlanta, Georgia and
Jackson, Mississippi. There's no place like home. In 1984 I was sued
for praying in the classroom. The case ended up in court for a week and
had national implications. We rated a sentence in Time magazine. We
were also featured on a Nightline show. My Life as an Educator
I've been teaching for
over twenty years. Many of those years were in a regular elementary
classroom. I have also enjoyed teaching Art for many years. During my
career I have taught most grade levels and I enjoy each one for its
special characteristics. I love to encourage all my students to be
creative. We explore all kinds of media and learn from a book called Regina's Big Mistake that we can
usually fix those "mistakes". Once we're over that hurdle, we can enjoy
creating all kinds of Art. When I'm Not Working... I'm usually keeping up with all the
chores involved in running a home. This past summer, we moved into a
new home so there's a lot of painting and wallpapering going on.
Whenever I find any time to relax, I love to read and sing. Playing the
guitar is a wonderful hobby.
