What a surprise to take a first AND second in the same contest, out of more than 50 entries! I didn't even intend to enter the pixie, since the contest was about using pink in a non-"candyfloss" way. I showed her to the host just for fun, and the host decided to enter her anyway, lol.

My first "unsolicited" awards! It is cool to get noticed without entering a contest. I very was very, very flattered.

I was so very proud of my Spring Toddler. The field of entries for StarTipper's All About Details contest was so awe-inspiring, that I worked extra hard on my entry just not to be embarassed. To have won an award in that field ... I am very grateful.

Shortly after I got PSP I started making bases for my dolls. The Valentine girl was my first entry on my new base line.

More awards from 2002, all for MSPaint dolls drawn without bases.

I was so proud to get my first "first" place, but also very proud to have an award in StarTipper's fall flair contest, since the field of entries was excellent. This was before I had PSP, and was drawing from scratch without bases. The "Sweet Mom" contest was the first time I didn't tell a soul about the contest I'd entered. I had started to realize that, no matter often you tell your friends you want them to vote for what they really think is best, a lot of them will end up voting for you anyway. Since then, I've let my dolls sink or win entirely on their own merit, with no friends even peaking, because awards just mean a lot more that way.

Some of my first awards (2002), all for MS Paint dolls drawn from scratch, no base.
