![]() I am a self-taught artist specializing in Colored Pencil portraits. Although I started with graphite, my medium of choice is colored pencil. I was introduced to colored pencils in 1997 by my high school art teacher. He passed a book around for us to look through, and inside were some pictures of photo realistic colored pencil work. I fell in love with a painting of a box of chocolates that looked like I could just pick one up and pop it in my mouth. He then showed us a colored pencil drawing that another student had done. Inspired by what I had seen, I went home that night, took out my Crayola colored pencils and drew an eagle. I was thrilled. I pulled out a poster of Bob Marley, hung it on my wall and sketched it out on a piece of mat board. The next day, I signed out a box of artist quality SpectraColor Colored Pencils and within a few days I created a Bob Marley painting that hangs on my uncles wall to this day. I was hooked. I am now a member of the Colored Pencil Society of America, and a member of my local Alliance for the Arts. |
I've recently gotten into freelance graphic design work also. I've designed an ad and a brochure for two local businesses. |
I am constantly trying to improve my skills and try different techniques which I learn from other artists on the website Wetcanvas.com. |
I am available for commissions. If you are interested, contact me. |
