Now that we've got guidelines for bones and skin, it's time to get into
some detail work. First, use an eraser or in the case of pixels just white
pixels to remove the bones, but leave the outline of the muscle. Also,
you can remove the back spikes that would be hidden by the wing. In the
case of transparent wing-membranes, you might want to leave an outline
of the back spikes. You can use a darker color of the wing membrane to
draw them in sillouette, which gives a neat effect.
Next, add a little flesh to the wingbones (although they're really not much more than skin and bones for the most part). Do the same cleanup for the wingbones and the hand. Now you're ready to add color! |
