| The next step is to add
guidelines for all the major feathers. Notice the shape of the far edge
of the wing...it mimics the bend in the elbow of the wing bone. Also, notice
how the primaries off the hand extend far out. I could go into the reasons for the shape and
aerodynamics and all that, but I'm sure there's some bird-loving website
out there that can do that all much better than I can. :) Remember: Reality
is your best teacher. Go and find pictures of wings to draw if you want
to really perfect them. This tutorial is only a way to help you get started. |
