Finish adding your highlights. Then, clean up the figure, and voila! Forepaws. Note how I put a dark shadow behind the ends of the toes on the left side picture. This gives the toes the impression of being farther forward, whereas the lack of shadow on the toes on the right gives them a more upright appearance.

Remember: Hands and paws are amazingly difficult to do. Practice, and use as many hand models as you can get.
