This website is a tribute to my teachers and the school that has enriched my life in a very positive way. There are no words to express my gratitude, appreciation and joy to all who have been such an important part of my journey.

My journey at Mission Valley Regional Occupational Program began in January 2002. At that time, I had a part-time job but I could see that it wasn't going to last for long. I decided I needed to learn more skills.

I had a computer at home and I spent many hours teaching myself programs that use graphics. One of the high points in my job was when I had the opportunity to use what I had taught myself, to do a project for the company. Although I loved doing the project, I wanted to learn more. Enter.........MVROP.

The whole time I have been at MVROP, the following philosophy has entered my mind over and over:

Reason, Season and Lifetime

People come into your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. When you figure out which it is, you know exactly what to do.

When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed outwardly or inwardly. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally, or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend, and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be.

Then, without any wrong doing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away. Sometimes they act up or out and force you to take a stand. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled; their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and it is now time to move on.

When people come into your life for a SEASON, it is because your turn has come to share, grow, or learn. They may bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh. They may teach you something you have never done. They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it! It is real! But, only for a season.

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons; those things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation. Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person/people (anyway); and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life. It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant. —Author Unknown

My teachers and classmates at school fall into each of these categories. All of you were there for a REASON; to fulfill my desire to learn. You did your job well.

This has been my SEASON to grow and learn, and hopefully, to have shared something of value with someone else. I have had much peace, laughter and joy while at MVROP. I have also had my share of frustration and stress in learning some of the subjects!

As for LIFETIME; I have learned many new skills that I can continue to build upon in the future. I have had the opportunity to learn from my teachers and classmates, much more than the subjects that were taught. The good examples the teachers have shown by their actions and behaviors are lessons by themselves. I've also had the opportunity to learn about different cultures and customs from some of my classmates.

Come along with me on my journey!
