Welcome To
My McNerney & McMahon Families

My grandparents were John McNerney and Nora/Hannah McMahon. I am not sure of the last name for McNerney as I have seen the name for John both as McNerney and McInerney. The family has gone with McNerney for years.

John had a brother James. They came to King Twp., York County, Ontario Canada from Ireland. My cousins tell me that immigration listed James as McNertney although they too go as McNerney.

As for my grandmother, I have a baptismal certificate for my father with her name as Hannah. On the gravestone it says Nora. I know nothing about the McMahon side of this family.

Here is how this family goes:

John McNerney married Nora (Hannah)McMahon

Children: John James never married
Elizabeth married Frank Fenn
Mary Ann married William Barnes
Thomas Stephen married Dallas Clara Tarbart

James McNerney married Pearl Hollingshead

Children: Aubrey married Ann Granger
Dorothy married Harold Fenn
Phyllis married Thomas Alfred (Fred) Fenn
Lorne never married
Bernice married Harry Grainger
Lyle married Margaret ?, then Olga ?

The Tarbart & Plouffe Families

This family came from France. I don't know if they were in Canada or not. I do know that they lived in Detroit at the time my mother was born.

Herbert Tarbart married Allaemae Plouffe
Child: Dallas Clara Tarbart

Herbert and Allaemae both died young. Herbert died about 1810 and Allaemae about 1812 leaving Dallas Clara an orphan at the age of about 5.

Allaemae was brought to Ontario and put in the St. Joseph's Orphanage in Toronto. She met and married my father Thomas Stephen McNerney.
