"Masonic Temple - Philadelphia" has been accepted by the The American Artists Professional League into the Eighty-First Grand National Exhibition at The Salmagundi Club in NYC, from November 3rd - 13th, 2009.
From October 14th - 25th, Brenda L Bechtel and Maure Fennessy Ryley present The 16th Annual Current Images exhibition, "Rhythms of the Sea" - Art of Cape Cod & Beyond at The Old Selectmen's Artist Gallery in West Barnstable.
"Commercial Street" is included in The Rhode Island Watercolor Society's 16th Annual National Watermedia Competition at Slater Memorial Park in Pawtucket, RI, October 4th - 29th, 2009.
"Ladybug Picnic" has been juried into The Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club's 113th Annual Exhibition at the National Arts Club in NYC, from October 1st - 23rd, 2009.
"Masonic Temple - Philadelphia" will be included in the "All New England" juried exhibit at The Cape Cod Art Association, September 10th - October 12th, 2009
"Ladybug Picnic" will be included in the prestigious National Juried Exhibition at the Cape Cod Art Association, June 18th - July 13th.
This exhibit has been extended through May 3rd, 2009.
The Gallery at Norumbega Point will host 'New England and Beyond', a retrospective journey inspired by fifty years of creative vision by Artist, Brenda L Bechtel. This exhibit and sale runs from March 17, 2009 thru April 30, 2009 and features paintings in oil, acrylic, pastel and watercolour of landscapes, seascapes and country paths which harmoniously juxtapose beside architectural renderings and city street scenes. These varied subjects are accompanied by quotes from the Artist's journals. Meet the Artist, enjoy light refreshments and fine art during Norumbega Point's Open House and Gallery Reception, Sunday, March 29, 2-4 pm. Offering a deeper insight into this Artist's inspired world, the public is invited to attend a gallery talk and slide presentation, Tuesday, April 21, from 2 - 3 pm. Brenda's "Lacework on Montague", an 11x14 watercolor, has been accepted into the Twenty-fifth Annual Interpretations of Light Juried Art Exhibition at the Cape Cod Art Association. This show will be on display from February 19 through March 9, 2009.

Celebrating 15 years of Artistic camaraderie, Brenda L Bechtel and Maura Fennessy Ryley will host "Momentum", their 15th annual Current Images exhibit at the Old Selectmen's Building Gallery, West Barnstable, MA (exit 5 off route 6). You will be greeted with hot mulled cider, delicious snacks and boundless inspiration as you enjoy Art in a myriad of mediums. This exhibit and sale of paintings, prints and embellished mirrors begins October 1, and continues through October 12, 2008, Wednesdays through Saturdays 10:00am - 4:00pm, with extended evening hours Fridays and Saturdays, and Sundays 12:00 - 4:00pm. Patrons making multiple purchases, as well as new clients referred by collectors of the Artists' work, will receive a 10% discount during this exhibit. This exhibit is free and all are welcome! The Cape Cod Art Association's "The National" Juried Exhibition (North American, including Alaska & Hawaii) will be on display June 19th - July 14th, 2008.
The Cape Cod Art Association's Regional Juried Exhibition, "All Cape Cod" will be on display April 24th - May 19th, 2008. Brenda was awarded the People's Choice Award for her Pastel, "White Cedar Swamp Trail", which will remain on display through June 17th, 2008.
The New England Watercolor Society's Regional Juried Exhibition at the Cotuit Center for the Arts, Route 28, Cotuit, MA, will be on display from April 12th - May 14th, 2008. Brenda will be presenting "A Work in Progress" for the New England Department of Human Resources on May 12th, 2008 from 6 - 8pm at the Cotuit Center for the Arts.

A myriad of magnificent creations by award winning artists Brenda L Bechtel and Maura Fennessy Ryley will haunt the walls of the Old Selectmen's Building Gallery, Rte 149, West Barnstable, MA. Their lucky 13th Current Images exhibit, "Art Enchantment", will feature luminous paintings in oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, monotypes and embellished mirrors. The show begins October 25th and continues through November 5, 2006, Wednesday through Saturday 10am-4pm, extended evening hours Fridays and Saturdays; Sundays, 12-4pm. Brenda Bechtel gathered inspiration in her Philadelphia Studio creating paintings of the fountains, mosaic gardens, and architecture in the city and beyond in addition to creating nearly 700 illustrations for John W. Obbard's new book, Early American Furniture: A Guide to Who, When, and Where. Signed, first edition copies will be available at the Gallery during this exhibit.
Maura Fennessy Ryley will show new mirrors, monotypes, and several watercolors, images from recent travels to Ireland and Italy.
Luminous brushstrokes and vibrant colors enliven the landscapes, cityscapes, giclees, monotypes and embellished mirrors of artists, Brenda L. Bechtel and Maura Fennessy Ryley, respectively. Their award-winning art displayed in national, regional and local venues will grace the walls for the 12th year at the Old Selectmen's Building Gallery, Route 149 (Meetinghouse Way), West Barnstable, MA. Currently, Brenda L. Bechtel is represented by Brookside Studio/Gallery of West Barnstable and Center City, Washington Square West, Philadelphia, PA. Her detailed renderings of seascapes and landscapes glow with nuanced Cape light. Brenda recently completed illustrations for a book which will be available in bookstores Spring/2006. Among her current projects are paintings of the fountains of Philadelphia, Nemours Mansion and Gardens in Wilmington, DE., and Chanticleer Gardens of Wayne, PA.
Brewster artist Maura Fennessy Ryley's expressive monotypes, mixed media, and embellished mirrors reflect her love of the Cape's vibrant natural landscape.
