Brenda has been awarded Full Elected Artist status at Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club, est 1896. Elected Artist Members are represented in museums, prestigious Art collections, the Who's Who series in American Art, important corporate collections and homes around the world. Their media include oil, watercolour, pastel, hand-pulled graphics and all forms of sculpture. The Club's major event is the Annual Open Juried Exhibition held at the National Arts Club, New York City. The Salmagundi Club hosts the annual Juried Exhibitions by Full Artist Members.

On October 1, the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod - in partnership with Cape Cod Media Group, Cape Cod Cooperative Bank and Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce - will launch the 4th Annual Fall for the Arts Festival for the entire month of October all across Cape Cod. Artist member of the Cape Cod Arts Foundation, Brenda L Bechtel's 18th Annual Current Images Exhibit "My way and the Highway ~ Inspired Travels", is included in the Old Kings Highway Trail portion of this event. Meet the Artist at the "Solace and Inspiration Slide Presentation and Discussion" September 7, 2 - 3pm at The Gallery at Mayflower Place. Brenda will present "Solace and Inspiration." During this slide presentation, she will discuss her Inspiration, Technique, and Vision, as well as introduce three paintings in progress.

Brenda's watercolor, "Commercial Street-Provincetown", will be shown at the The Philadelphia Sketch Club's Open Juried Exhibition, "Works on Paper 2011". This exhibition will include watercolours, hand-pulled prints, pastels and other works on paper by prominent Artists. Jurors; James MacFarlane, Nationally recognized Artist and teacher, Signature Member and current President of the American Watercolor Society, Signature Member of the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society and Past President of both the Philadelphia Watercolor Society and the Greater Norristown Art League. Katherine Krieg specializes in contemporary realism in landscapes and still life with watercolor. Her work can be found in collections from Virginia to Maine. Brenda's Oil on panel, "Whimsical Baler of the Mills" has been juried into the New England Landscape Invitational at Lyme Art Association. Guest juror for this exhibition, Bartholomew F. Bland is Curator of Exhibitions at the Hudson River Museum, Yonkers, New York. His current survey of Hudson River Artists, titled "Paintbox Leaves: Autumnal Inspiration from Cole to Wyeth" is on view through January 16, 2011. He is co-author of "Merry Wives and Others: A History of Domestic Humor Writing" and contributed to "Dutch New York: The Roots of Hudson River Valley Culture" and "Westchester: The American Suburb," both published by Fordham University Press. Current curatorial traveling exhibitions include "A Field Guide to Sprawl", "Yale University"; "Andrew Stevovich: The Truth about Lola", "Boca Raton Museum of Art"; and "Red Grooms: In the Studio", as well as interpretive projects for Staten Island Museum at Snug Harbor Cultural Center, the National Science Museum, London; and the Flagler Museum, Palm Beach.

"The Ocean Sings to my Soul", an oil on linen, has been selected to be part of the 2010 "All New England" juried exhibition at the Cape Cod Art Association. An opening reception and award ceremony will be held Friday, September 10, 4-6pm.

"Ladybug Picnic - Chanticleer", an oil on linen, has been juried into the "Summer Painting and Sculpture Exhibition" at Lyme Art Association's Cooper/Ferry South & Cole Galleries. The Goodman Gallery will display work by Signature Members of the Connecticut Pastel Society as a special component of this exhibition. The public is invited to the opening reception, August 13, 6-8pm.

Brenda's pastel "Burchfield Inspired" is included in the "All Media Open Juried Exhibition" at the Rhode Island Watercolor Society. This show is juried by Robert Noreika, a Paier School of Art Graduate and prominent national award-winning Artist and illustrator. He is an elected member of several prominent Art organizations including New England Watercolor Society, Lyme Art Association, Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts, among others. The exhibition will take place July 18 - August 6, 2010 at the Slater Memorial Park in Pawtucket.

The Gallery at Norumbega Point will host 'New England and Beyond', a retrospective journey inspired by fifty years of creative vision by Artist, Brenda L Bechtel. This exhibit and sale runs from March 17, 2009 thru April 30, 2009 and features paintings in oil, acrylic, pastel and watercolour of landscapes, seascapes and country paths which harmoniously juxtapose beside architectural renderings and city street scenes. These varied subjects are accompanied by quotes from the Artist's journals. Meet the Artist, enjoy light refreshments and fine art during Norumbega Point's Open House and Gallery Reception, Sunday, March 29, 2-4 pm. Celebrating 15 years of Artistic camaraderie, Brenda L Bechtel and Maura Fennessy Ryley will host "Momentum", their 15th annual Current Images exhibit at the Old Selectmen's Building Gallery, West Barnstable, MA (exit 5 off route 6). You will be greeted with hot mulled cider, delicious snacks and boundless inspiration as you enjoy Art in a myriad of mediums. This exhibit and sale of paintings, prints and embellished mirrors begins October 1, and continues through October 12, 2008, Wednesdays through Saturdays 10:00am - 4:00pm, with extended evening hours Fridays and Saturdays, and Sundays 12:00 - 4:00pm. Patrons making multiple purchases, as well as new clients referred by collectors of the Artists' work, will receive a 10% discount during this exhibit. This exhibit is free and all are welcome! The New England Watercolor Society's Regional Juried Exhibition at the Cotuit Center for the Arts, Route 28, Cotuit, MA, will be on display from April 12th - May 14th, 2008. Brenda will be presenting "A Work in Progress" for the New England Department of Human Resources on May 12th, 2008 from 6 - 8pm at the Cotuit Center for the Arts.

A myriad of magnificent creations by award winning artists Brenda L Bechtel and Maura Fennessy Ryley will haunt the walls of the Old Selectmen's Building Gallery, Rte 149, West Barnstable, MA. Their lucky 13th Current Images exhibit, "Art Enchantment", will feature luminous paintings in oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, monotypes and embellished mirrors. The show begins October 25th and continues through November 5, 2006, Wednesday through Saturday 10am-4pm, extended evening hours Fridays and Saturdays; Sundays, 12-4pm. As an early Hallow's Eve treat on Saturday, October 28th the artists Brenda and Maura will give costumed patrons an opportunity to receive a savings on selected Art.

Brenda Bechtel gathered inspiration in her Philadelphia Studio creating paintings of the fountains, mosaic gardens, and architecture in the city and beyond in addition to creating nearly 700 illustrations for John W. Obbard's new book, Early American Furniture: A Guide to Who, When, and Where. Signed, first edition copies will be available at the Gallery during this exhibit.
Maura Fennessy Ryley will show new mirrors, monotypes, and several watercolors, images from recent travels to Ireland and Italy.

Luminous brushstrokes and vibrant colors enliven the landscapes, cityscapes, giclees, monotypes and embellished mirrors of artists, Brenda L. Bechtel and Maura Fennessy Ryley, respectively. Their award-winning art displayed in national, regional and local venues will grace the walls for the 12th year at the Old Selectmen's Building Gallery, Route 149 (Meetinghouse Way), West Barnstable, MA. "Current Images", this dynamic duo's annual exhibit runs from September 28th through October 10th, 2005, Wednesday through Sunday including Columbus Day, 10am-4pm, with extended hours Fridays and Saturdays. Currently, Brenda L. Bechtel is represented by Brookside Studio/Gallery of West Barnstable and Center City, Washington Square West, Philadelphia, PA. Her detailed renderings of seascapes and landscapes glow with nuanced Cape light. Brenda recently completed illustrations for a book which will be available in bookstores Spring/2006. Among her current projects are paintings of the fountains of Philadelphia, Nemours Mansion and Gardens in Wilmington, DE., and Chanticleer Gardens of Wayne, PA.
Brewster artist Maura Fennessy Ryley's expressive monotypes, mixed media, and embellished mirrors reflect her love of the Cape's vibrant natural landscape.
