PRIVATE ACTING LESSONS - Expressive Anthropology

The descriptive term I use to embody what I teach is
'EXPRESSIVE PERFORMANCE ANTHROPOLOGY'
Anthropology is the science of human beings; their ancestors through time and space and in relation to physical character, environmental and social relations, and culture. (Webster)
Thus,'EXPRESSIVE PERFORMANCE ANTHROPOLOGY' is how the actor manifests these characteristics and convincingly conveys them to an audience.
As a director or teacher one is not a manipulator - but a developer. There are many tools and techniques one uses with the student. These tools each a have a general name: Quintilian, Stanislovski, Adler, Suzuki, Grotowsky, Meisner, Myerhold, Strasberg, Spolin, Brecht - just to name a few.

Teaching Background:
Guest Instructor at Bellarmine University Theatre Dept, Jeffersontown H.S. - Jefferson County School System. Former staff instructor for Louisville Studio for Actors (now guest instructor), 'Acting Out!" - Original Sight & Sound Workshop Series, Elizabethtown Community and Technical College.

PRIVATE INDIVIDUALIZED ACTING INSTRUCTION:
A truly holistic approach, one-on-one training is focused in the areas that are requested and needed by and modified for the individual. Drawing from many dramatic methods, techniques and disciplines (current and traditional) from around the world, this is actual physical for-stage work - not sit down lecturing. A positive learning laboratory experience where the student is 'up on the boards'. The focus is for stage - which translates to TV and Cinema.
Teaching approach: STAGE TIME! The student is actually working NOT being lectured to! Students can chose specific areas of instruction according to their previous training. (This is also an advantage of private lessons!)

Emphasis on Live Theatre
