The Forbidden City

Twenty-four emperors of Ming and Qing dynasties lived in this palace, officially know as the Former Imperial Palace (it's also know as the Palace Museum). With more than 9,000 room and halls, its the largest architectural complex in the world.

The Ming Tomb

The located about 30 miles northwest of Beijing, the tombs can be seen in about one hour. Unlike tombs in countries such as Egypt, these are not elaborately decorated inside. The only tomb open to the public is that of Emperor Wanli (reigned 1573-1620_AD)

Oianmen

Qianmen means "front gate," and the Qianmen area is named for the front gate of the old walled city of Beijing, which was left standing after the walls themselves were demolished.
