So, you want to play guitar, but you don't know what you need.
I can help you out. first off, you need a guitar.
Do you want an Electric, or Acoustic? I suggest you get an Electric, even if you don't get an amp with it. My reason for this is simple, an electric is:
1)A whole lot quieter, if you don't plug it in. 2)Easier on your fingers. 3)easier to find at a descent price, and still play descently.
Of course you are not limited to getting an electric. You could also get an acoustic. There is nothing wrong with an acoustic. But, you must be careful if you decide to get an acoustic.
Whatever type of guitar you want, I highly suggest you get it from Guitar Center. They are very good to their customers.
What I found to be a good beginners guitar, not just for me but for many people I know, were the Fender Squier Stratacaster. It is a relatively cheap guitar, that will last you for a while as a beginner.
You can get one at Guitar Center for about $100-$150.
I m not quite sure, but I think Squier may also have an Acoustic style also.
