Khafajah (Tutub):

Archaeologists excavated the site, uncovering the large and splendid ‘oval temple’ that stands with its two eccentric enclosures and its cella raised on a platform, dating to the Early Dynastic III period.

The evidence excavated at the Khafajah graves site also suggested that there had been ceremonies connected with the burial rite.

The high density of religious building unearthed at the Khafajah site distinguished the “temple neighborhood” from excavated portion of most other communities. The site excavated at Tell Asmar yielded numerous houses but only a single temple.
