For the Best Belly Dance music----I think so, anyway.......see http://sphinxrecords.com     Check out Dr. Farag's new CD:  Classic Egyptian Belly Dance Music  --  (he dedicated song #11 to me!!!!)  I highly recommend it!   I first fell in love with Dr. Farag's music when I heard a beautiful song in a restaurant I was dancing in about 5 years ago......they told me it was "Gawaher" from Midnight Magic CD.  I   HAD to have it!!!   I went out and bought it......and years later, never in my wildest dreams did I ever imagine he would dedicate a song to me....  : )  

MEXICO CITY - 2008

Maria Shazadi was a wonderful hostess.  Hers is the 1st Mega-Belly dance contest in all of Mexico.  She has danced all over the world.  I was honored to be invited by her to be one of the judges.  The talent was spectacular. The young girl in the blue was the youngest.  She was under 15 years! Yasmina Ramzy (from Canada) was the star of the gala show, along with her dumbek maestro Suleyman!   I felt very special dancing in the capitol of my native country!  Maria is the tall blonde---most Mexians are my color, bronze skin with dark hair!  She showed me many wonders of Mexico---Frida Kahlo's home and the Pyramid of the Sun & Moon!  I climbed all the way to the top, where I had a picture taken, with the Pyramid of the Moon in the background!

 I made  many wonderful new friends, including Samira---she introduced Maria to this wonderful passion of ours:  Belly Dance!    Mexico City has delicious food-----everything was delicious!  See Maria's web:      www.mariashazadi.com

HAWAII - July 2008

I didn't get to watch belly dancing in  Waikiki---but got to go on an outrigger canoe without getting wet, got to snorkel, and.... I met the most beautiful  little dancing Wahine's there:  Poliahu Aina, Tiare Judd-Naone, Mahiehie Kane, Tehani Perkins.....Their dancing was awesome!!!!

TITO

My "Egyptian Connection" asked me to host a workshop with TITO Seif of Egypt in San Diego---how could I refuse???  Tito is coming again in August!!!!   See Ana's Calendar for more info!!!!

Tito used that staff in Las Vegas IBDC show....  Yesss!!!!......He signed it!!!!!      Check his videos on YouTube!!!   That's Shady, Tito and I.  It was fun being his promoter in San Diego!  That's mom and her real cane...she hurt her knee the week before---she had to have HIS signature!

He was a wonderful teacher!   Both workshops were a success!  Everyone LOVED Tito!!!!

TIJUANA, MEXICO - June 2008

IN TIJUANA  - - IMCADH'S Extraordinary Presentation:  Divine Dance Night -  I was honored to be a recipient of a "Badiaa Masabni" award for "Her extraordinary cultural labor, her educational labor, her artistic work, and binational liaison"

Ana & Maria Shazadi, the award recipients:  Ana, Nelly Serrano, and Winner Maria, Nelly & Ana, Ana, Maria & Niral, Dinner with the IMCADH Group  -   That night I made a lot of new wonderful friends.  Maria Shazadi is a wonderful, talented lady.  She is well-known in the Mexico dance community and has brought many celebrities to further enrich the dance in Mexico.  Nelly Serrano has a yearly event that has also greatly enriched the dance in Mexico.  She is a gracious lady.  Niral of IMCADH was the organizer, and I felt privileged and honored to be amongst these women who have promoted our wonderful dance!

ANA'S HOLIDAY EXTRAVAGANZA 2007

This party was one of the best one's yet!  We had guests from North L.A., Riverside, Tijuana  --  they all braved the torrential rains to be here---Shady from Los Angeles,  http://diamondpyramid.com , was here with his entourage!  The dancers were: Estrella, Magdalena, Zaara, Rebecca, Sabrina, and from Tijuana: Maryam and Lizeth "Mariposa".  All the guests were soon up and dancing to the sounds of:  Andy and Emad of the Dreams Band, Moayed --he of the velvet voice, Randwulf and Roc.  These awesome musicians are some of the best in San Diego!!!!!

That's my Godson Omar --- hey ladies...he's single!!!!!    Lizeth "Mariposa" is showing off her beautiful back tattoo......hummmm, I do have a belly button jewel, but I'm not ready for a tatoo!!!!....     That's Andy of  TheDreams Band----he's my "bro"!  His keyboard playing is incomparable!!!!  He's the best!  

 That's Sabrina, me and my beautiful Mom  -- she loves to belly dance too!  Sabrina looks beautiful in her Assuit costume.   Here I am with Estrella (she of the wild-animal print costume -- she dances like a tigress!!!!) and Marissa and Pakita, who came from Riverside.

LAS VEGAS 2007

 Karim Nagy is a genius with Zills!   Tito of Egypt is Incredible---He has a gift from God----Charisma oozes from him---to watch him dance is  an incredible experience!!!!  Maryam, Ileana and I enjoyed dinner with him!!!!     Did you ever see a Saroyan Sword on Fire?????   

CAIRO CARNIVALE  2007

That weekend was a blast!!!   Ansuya is a down-to-earth Goddess!!!   I am a person that never says "NO" to a party......that night we went to a small get-together with my friend Raven (in the group pic: the beautiful, green-eyed brunette,head on my shoulders)----little did we know that Ansuya would be there too!!!  Boy, was I glad I went to that one!!!     There were only about 13 people there!   We even got to dance to the drumbeats of her boyfriend!!!!  Those two guys sure made dancing fun!!!  Karim Nagi danced for us too!   He has a wonderful sense of humor.  I took a class from him in Las Vegas in August.

SAMEDA Faire 2007

Everyone comes to the SAMEDA Faire!   You can shop til you drop, and see dancer on stage all day!  This year we had Rachel Brice,  Angelika Nemeth  & Sahra Saeeda  at SAMEDA Faire!  This was a fun-for-the-whole-family event!!!!

STREETSCENE 2007

2007 - We're back at Street Scene  -   Coors Ampitheater in Chula Vista!

We were on  San Diego's KUSI News, and partied all night at StreetScene----up from dusk til dusk!  Meissoun was here from Switzerland, and she joined the gang!  Paul, Dailin, Javi, Steven & Richards were our "genies".  The dancers joining me are from San Diego and Tijuana: Joelle, Lizeth, Anna Marie, Claudia, Crystal, Alis, Nikki.

DEL MAR Fair 2007

I have taken my group to the Del Mar Fair the last 10 years.  It's such is a fun place to go.! This year we dance on July 4!!!   This year my friends from Tijuana came up and danced with us, Maryam (in the dark teal blue) and Ileana (in orange sherbet).  Maryam did a wonderful Bollywood dance.  Also Maike from Germany helped us out too!  Little Karina was the beautiful little diva in gold!

 Ana' Holiday Extravaganza Party 2006      

The Party Crasher from the San Diego Reader was there.......Everyone had FUN!!!   The food was excellent, contributed by the guests and the entertainment was spectacular!  So many beautiful dancers from both sides of the border: US & Mexico.  Dancers included the statuesque Sultana Rose, Maryam Hapzibhe, Dalida Kadesh, our lovely Escondido dancer Estrella, the little belly dancer Karina, and "yours truly"!  Randwulf & Roc were there with their awesome percussion.  The talented Andy of Dreams Band and Moayed the singer pleased everyone with their melodies. The next big party is in Summer!

My first "RAVE"!!!!   -   Labor Day Weekend, Sept. 2006!  at NOS Center in San Bernardino.....Hey, that's what I call "La Vida Loca"!  Ileana & Isabel from "Layali" group came with me!   SO MUCH fun!!!!
