PROFESSIONAL CAREER:

Gwathmey Inc. Cambridge, MA                                August 2000 to date
Scope:  Conducted contract research.  Ran animal feeding study to test the effect of alcohol consumption on certain kinases.  Implemented ELISA assay for norepinephrine determination. Western blots for signaltransduction studies.  Has been responsible for maintaining and running HPLC and FPLC.  Prepared liposomes for drug delivery systems.  Maintained cell cultures.  Researched analytical procedures and protocols to support studies performed at Gwathmey Inc.  Currently project coordinator on an initial efficacy and toxicity study.

Brandeis University, Waltham, MA
(with Dr. Pieter Wensink and Dr. Marty Stanton)        March 1999 to August 2000
Scope:  Maintaining and transformation of yeast, worked with the “Hybrizap 2.1 Two Hybrid System” protocol.  Screening for interaction by growing yeast on different, selective media, and testing for LacZ expression, amplification of lambda phage library, also, preparing high purity DNA plasmids by CsCl-equilibrium centrifugation.  Selecting RNA aptamers to proteins using different methods.

Brandeis University, Waltham, MA
(with Dr. Andrew Szent-Györgyi)                                1991 to March 1999
Scope:  Preparation of myosin, and myosin light chains from scallop striated, rabbit skeletal, and turkey gizzard smooth muscle.  Preparation of actin from rabbit psoas muscle.  Preparation and purification of different proteolytic fragments of scallop and physarum myosin for crystallization and enzyme activity studies.
Measurement of the ATP-ase activity of myosin.  Site directed mutagenesis, subcloning, expression and purification of myosin regulatory and essential light chains.  Purchasing lab and office supplies, lab maintenance.  Help with correspondence, maintain scientific reference list.
Supervision of undergraduate and rotating graduate students.

College of Food Industry, Szeged, Hungary            1983-1989
