It was held by the Southwestern Ontario Basketry Guild. A very special thank you to all of the members for all the work they did and for the great hospitality. I had classes with Tressa Sularz and Delores Von Rosen, my husband had class with Gary Devine (he does absolutely amazing things with gourds, and Flo Hoppe (she happened to be the guest speaker of the week end). Other teachers were Sharon Breckenridge, Louise Warner-Macdougall, Alice Lingard, and Shelia Ziman. They had a great display of basketry in several of the stores and the library in town, which was lots of fun to view. The people that I met were so friendly and nice, a big hello to each of you and I am not going to try to mention each of you by name, because I might forget someone and then I'd feel bad. But I would like to say "hi" to Gail who came all the way from Montana - hope you arrived home safely. The next conference will be in April 2006 and if anyone has the opportunity to attend it would be well worth it. Thank you David for all you do to keep this forum running. Check with Pat Yunkes (Cooksburg, PA). I bought a reindeer kit at NCBA convention from her last year. In the back of the convention brochure it mentions she has a website, but not sure the address. Hope this is helpful. If anyone knows I'd appreciate the info. Because the reindeer is so tricky, I did my pattern with lots of color pictures and used 5 different colors of reed and numbered them so it is very easy to follow. I really enjoy getting Weavers Word every week. OK, here's my question...I am going to do my first big craft show and I wondered if there were any tips or ideas people may have to help. I am struggling with a booth design and wondered if anyone had an easy, cheap and portable booth idea. I also wondered if anyone knew what background colors work best, etc. Any help would be appreciated. The show is in November, so I have some time to get this done. Do you put it down and then put your first batch of spokes on top of it? I did this and you get a "rocky" basket. Do you put down the initial spokes and put the handle on top, twine, then add the rest of the spokes when you can? Do you do some of the first spokes, the handle, then the rest of the first spokes, twine and add the remaining spokes? Just curious.
