On the topic of corrections, I once heard that there were some corrections for Flo Hoppe's book Contemporary Wicker Basketry on the basketpatterns.com website. I've never been able to find them there. Does anyone know whether or not this list really exists, and if so, where to find them? The best I've found for this are INTRODUCING RUSHCRAFT by K. Whitbourn, published by Charles T. Branford, CO., New Centre, MA in 1969; and CANE, RUSH AND STRAW, edited by Yvonne Deutch, published in the US by Excalibur Books, N.Y. NY in 1977. David, thanks for continuing to put this out for us. You are so appreciated. I know I've kind of been in outer space, or so it has been thought. I haven't, I've just been really really busy. I hope you all are weaving weaving weaving!!! I thought I'd report on the IBA Convention. Well, Awesome comes to mind. I taught on Thursday and had a great group of ladies. We had more than a full group. Everyone finished their baskets. There were so many great things going on. Of course there were the few things glitches that all good conventions have. I know most of them were easily taken care of and everyone got back on to the business of basket making and of course SHOPPING!!! I did my own fair share of that as well and picked up some really nice things. I found this awesome bag to carry tools in, along with just about anything else you want to put in it. (My daughter found it great to carry her important stuff in. Not like she doesn't have every basket she wants that I make hahaha.) She loves to come to convention at least one day with me. This year she had a ball. In the past, she has collected many things from pencils to catalogues and a few patterns that she requests I make for her. This year, she is into crowns and was sporting her newest crown. Someone actually ask her if she had been in a competition and thought she had won! That just made her day. Along with that crown, she sported the biggest smile for the longest time. So, if it was you who complimented her, just know you made her day! Like she needs any more confidence. The raffle went well with several people walking away with several prizes. I've never seen such luck. I was sitting near Betty K and she kept her fingers crossed really tight and it finally paid off. She got the coasters she wanted. Poor Laura Lee Zanger, I think I have her name right; she tried and tried but no luck. They were such nice people. Everyone was so nice. I got to see some people I hadn't seen since last convention. Wow, such a fun weekend. I'm going to be up dating the site soon and you all are invited to swing by and see the new updates. The newest purse pattern/kit to my purse collection. There will be a new free pattern coming soon. Take care and enjoy the spring. http://www.angelfire.com/home/thecrowesnest Weave On, Lynda The Crowe's Nest Basketry http://www.angelfire.com/home/thecrowesnest %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% Subject: Basket Classes In Northwest Phoenix Area Date: Tue, 20 May 2003 08:44:29 -0700 From: "Nancy Jacobs" To: davidc@iei.net Hello Everyone, I would like to let you know that if you live in the Northwest Phoenix Valley, I will be forming new basket classes for the summer.
