Leigh in NC - try Jill Choate's patterns. It depends on the shape of the antlers, what you'll want to do with them. Look at the pictures with her patterns to see the shape of the antler for each style. If you use the search feature in our on-line catalog, type in antler, the patterns will all show up and you can see the different types. Sounds like the swap went very well. There was an article in our paper recently that caught my eye & I wanted to let you know about it. Called-Getting the Creeps. It showed a picture of an old factory in Rockingham, N. C. covered about 2/3 over with Kudzu. It stated that over the last century, the creepy, crawly vine has covered up (or as in paper) swallowed up telephone poles, fences, buildings, choked forests and cloaked roadsides and fields in shimmering green. It is nicknamed the "green menace". Also I wonder if anyone has used foxtail & if so, what did you do with it? Since the AMB convention is looming closer, wanted to ask those that want to meet (WW members) or others if you want to do what we did in the past. Wear a RED RIBBON next to your nametag. That way it is very noticeable. And then after seeing the red ribbon, you can check out the nametag. We tried just writing WW & highlighting it on our tags, but that was not very noticeable. Also does anyone have an idea of a time they would want to meet. We set up a couple different times before & probably should do that again. Just looking ahead so there is time to think about it. Happy Weaving. Kay Janke in Michigan %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% Subject: Handles Help! Sorry that this is a month late, but I am very far behind in my WW's. I spray stain, using Deft liquid stain diluted 1:1 with mineral spirits in a spray bottle I buy from Royalwood. I buy them in bulk. I have tried many many brands of bottles and these are the best IMHO. I save up about 10-12 baskets and then spray them all. I then spray water through the bottle (a few oz) and the bottle is generally usable another time or two if I take care to rinse the water through the spraying mechanism well. The solution tends to "eat" away the o-ring in the nozzle in all but these great Royalwood bottles. Try it and see what you think. Much much easier than a brush and even better, QUICKER! The students in the 2 classes he taught loved it and raved about how great it was, but I was truly blessed with the best part of the deal. He and Ann are wonderful people and it was just a delight to have them around. If you are not able to get a class with him this year, mark the fall of 2001 on your calendar - we have already asked him to schedule classes here with us again. Don't say we didn't give you enough notice this time! I'm truly sorry I was not able to take the class myself but will make sure I do so next time.
